Broke a vac sensor...how critical is this?

I broke the filter on a small vac sensor when loosening my temp sensor. I glued it back together again with E6000 but am a little concerned about blocking the very small hole in the center. Will this last me a while or is it critical that I replace it ASAP.

Here's another pic...the one I broke was connected to an orange connector. Gotta go start hunting in the manual.

thats not a sensor, its a seloid (used for removing or applying vac or pressure to some air operated actuator)... and yeah, it wont work properly if the hole is blocked

but there is a writeup of how to test it in the factory service manual....

Of course....solenoid.

Will check the write up. Is there a name for that part of the system..or that part?

from what ive seen the test process is the same for all of them... basicaly blowing or sucking on one of the lines while both applying and not applying 12 volts to it

i know in the vdi section and the aux port section describing the intake system of the 91 cars there are descriptions for how to test them

Well I can't tell you exactly what soleniod that is because God forbid I should have my manual when I need it. Most likley its a smog related one. The little round thing on the end is a filter. You can't block it. I think it blows out. I have some from my TII. If its a smog one that is.

It should have a colored round sticker ontop. Then the book will tell you what its for.

OK, the solenoid with the orange plug is for the Hot Start Assist System, which temporarily cuts vacuum to the fuel pressure regulator whenever you try to start the engine when it's really hot. This increases fuel pressure to help starting and improve idle quality until things cool down a bit.

If the filter is blocked, the worst that'll happen is the system won't work and you'll have a rough idle (and maybe even a stall) for about a minute. Nothing critical. You may not even notice it.
