broke bolts in the tranny
basically i striped the threads for the clutch slave on the tranny
first I tried to jb weld the bolts
broke the jbweld and the slave started moving again
next I got 1/16" bigger bolt and went very very slowly to create new threads in the tranny
I got the new bolts tightened down then went to flush the system, bolts need one more nudge, go to do it and break the heads off both the bolts
i think im stuck at having to pay a shop to drop the tranny so i can easy out the bolts and get easier access to the threads
any other suggestions i really dont feel like paying some shop 500 bucks to drop my tranny
i dont really care about ghetto rigging it i need the car running again

did you try using a harder rating bolt? and uhm... try not to give it that extra snug its tight enough if it breaks with the extra snug... dont be paranoid, happens to me many time at work.

Not sure if its accessable with a drill, but if it is, maybe try drilling the bolt out, and tap it out? if not look for a heli-coil kit. If you have ever dropped a tranny, or if you have ever done serious maintenance to a car, then you shouldn't pay them 500 to do it. You could buy another transmission for that cost if you did it yourself.

its only accessible with a side angle drill
i have one but its very low torque
and yes I used a 3 notch bolt hardest one I could find
also about the trany drop
every shop i call charges 3 hours of labor each way
I would do it myself but i can't get the car high enough

you shot yourself in the foot, you should have either tapped threads for the larger bolts or installed some threaded steel inserts. you probably will have to drop the tranny now and drill and tap out the bolts, if they had enough force on them to snap the heads off they likely will have enough sticking force to break an easy out and if that happens you're really screwed.

Next time drill and thread the bolt holes the right way. You are officially a member of the STuBbY club! lol
Now: Go rent or buy an angle drill, some heli-coils or a tap and dye set and do it the right way. Have fun ~rich
