Brittle dash repair

I have what appears to be a fairly typical FC problem. My dash is broken into many pieces. Recently I tried to fix it with fibergrlass to less than a good result. After the fiberglass resin cured, it easily pulled off and didn't help it at all. Has anyone done a succesful dash repair? If so, chime in with what works.

I just broke a tab off the cluster surround today on my buddies car, I was being really careful with it too. Luckly only that broke. Epoxy glue always works for me, but it only holds up until the next removal, unless you are careful with it.

There are plastic welders out there if you want to get into it, but you need to know what type of plastic they work for.
