I think paying for a rare car because of color is foolish.i would rather pay extra for mods or b/c its an old school(ex. my rust buckett 77rx-3sp in garage)plus if you pay a good body shop for a good paint job where they would take it apart and then paint it; the only difference is the numbers would not match but........ HP is what Im in favor for.

I drive a 92 NT eclipse right now that had 145WHP brand new has 209000 miles and I don't bother changing the oil anymore because I have to put in a quart or so a week (which reminds me)... so I think when I finally do drive this car it will prolly be like an f'n bullet in comparison...

Just go for what you likeso many people make the mistake of trying to push the envelope on h.p. mods, and bling bling. If thats your thing, great. But you do have a rare colored rx-7 and that is known throughout the rx-7 fans and you now.

Thanx for the input everyone

I have a blue 86 (Sapphire Blue or something). I like the color and the fact that most RX7's you see aren't blue. However, it can be a pain finding parts. I've been looking for a door handle for some time now and only recently found one.

Im with him more pics, i havent seen to many pics of brave blue FC's

My Fc was originally pure red (an almost orange shade, only available in 86') but the previous owner had them richen it up when it was re-finished, kinda gay.

All I can suggest if you can't find your color... is have a paint shop make you the color you desire (drivers door has the code) and paint it yourself... its what I did when I redid my engine bay... I just wish I had the time to redo the entire bay for paint, but since I live in michigan the climate is like f-u for painting.

No I wasn't wondering that at all... I was talking the Brave Blue on my 91 I have...

I was just ripping on the poor selection of the blue with tan look for the verts and coupes of the 3rd gen... well poor selection of color in my opinion I am sure that others would not agree with me.

My brave blue has black factory top. I did talk with the original owner and he sais that he did pay a high premium for that color coordination. Especially withthe blue leather int. all the ones i have seen always had the black.

yes this has the blue leather with the super badass stereo in it and everything, but the fucktard who had it before me rewired a bunch of stereo stuff so now I have to sort that out...

But sadly I am not keeping the original stereo in it, I am planning an almost exclusive alpine system with a tastefully done sub/amp/surround speaker combo. I believe in keeping the form and the function... altho I do plan on keeping all my old stereo components so they may be reinstalled if ever a time requires it. Nothing will be thrown that can't be saved.

I have a Claret Mica '88 SE with grey velour interior - its the color of red claret wine(a little darker than a Dr. Pepper can)... my father bought it new. I'm getting ready to restore it. How do you know how many vehicles of a particular color were made or imported? It would be interesting to know the different numbers by year & trim line. Isn't there someone with too much time on there hands to make a spreadsheet? Nice Blue Color.

Eh? Didn't realize the "champagne" (as I call it) was rare. Nifty.

My first FC was Brave Blue Mica. I love that color. But now that I think about it, I like my current white one better.

The blue is nice, and not rare, but UNCOMMON. I have seen actually quite a few of them, mostly in the junkyard.
