Question Brakes (replace@ oem vs upgrade)

Trying to find a site with goo info on brake work, I have yet to decide on either upgrading, or staying stock. But parts seem to be a problem. I'm trying to stay under 400.00 for complete setup of rotors and pads, any ideas?

Thanks, what type of improvement should I notice with the upgrade over the oem?

The stock 4-piston brake system seems to be more than enough for anything but the most spirited track racing
If you have the 1-piston calipers, look into buying some used 4-piston instead of new upgraded brakes

I've got the single piston breaks.. was looking at doing a 5 lug conversion but decided against it.

Instead I put in SS breaklines, hawk pads, turned the rotors and flushed out all the old fluid and replaced it with some synthetic stuff that's supposed to be better than DOT 4, added some speedbleeders and bled the hell out of the system.

The breaks work great.. esp after the pads warm up a bit. I can lock all four of the wheels if I get on it hard.. I'm sure I don't have the endurance of the 4 pistons but honestly I don't need it.

This is what I have near your price range.

E-coated slotted rotors and Porterfield R4S pads. Can get SS lines as well.

Let me know if you're interested as we have special pricing setup for the forum guys. I know I can get you the best price on good quality slotted rotors.

Peace, Rishie

This is what I have on my GTUs.

Yeah, but with 5 lug you aren't stuck with the ugly (IMO) phone dial wheels.

I like my rims.. only come in 4 lug too so it's not a common sight on an FC :-)
