boosting problems.....help
Ok here is the deal. I just swapped on my old stock s4 turbo after I ported the crap out of the wastegate. The other s4 turbo I had on there was blowing puffs of black smoke when I let off gas....I think oil seals are going out. Anyway I do a super clean swap and I'm ready to go. Well.....once it finally spools it pulls hard...but it doesn't spool till late. If I punch it from idle in first it spools to .5bar by 6500 rpms. This is rediculous. In third I'll hit .8bar by 6k and it will hold to redline.
I have the dual scroll disconnected, and I ported the exhuast runners a little that lead into the turbo. However the old turbo was the exact same set up and it spooled by 3500 in first. This is very disheartening.
I'm checking for boost leaks...but I can't find any, where should I check first. I did have the I/C off, so I'll start checking there. Is it possible that my wastegate is stuck open, that's what it sounds like to me. I just want to drive my stupid car.
