I think it's time to ring the bell and everyone needs to take it easy. Sky does know his ****, he can rebuild motors, fabricate custom parts (out of fiberglass and aluminum), do all the electrical on the seven, hook up the haltech and now he is learning to tune. So no, he is not a noob, just got a low post count and this is why.
Aaron, no offense to you, I know you know your **** also, I've seen your work and you can understand how sky feels about keeping his motor, you did the same thing when doing your car. And you can also do the same amount of things Sky can. but you did come off a little beligerent (sp?) when responding to Sky, he wanted opinions from people who have done this. Yes you gave your opinion, but how many people told you that your project would fail?
Let's keep this friendly and constructive, with all of the bullshit going on in the world. And all of the hate and death, can't we all just get along.(that last phrase was a joke)

go with the higher comp. I am currently running the 86 N/A motor with Atkins seals at 19 psi of boost. 2695lb car that does the 1/4 at 118-119mph. T3-60-1 .82 stage 3 turbine with no turbo lag. Slow 60 foot times, 2.0 sec or more.

OK everyone...Look at his first post again...See the two mistakes? And the elementary questions? That's why I assumed newbie and lack of knowledge.

I agree, it is hard to beleive 19psi on n/a rotors. Look in the first gen section for "1st gen dyno sheet" should be on page 6 or so.
Have not had the time to take it back to the track yet. but is does run better on the street, after the dyno time.

damn, i think when i build a motor ill go with high comp rotors also. I have a set of perfect s4 n/a's in my garage, ill use them unless i can get $ for some s5

i've sworn by high comp motors for the longest time, and to everyone here what i wanted to do was blasphamy..... i wanted to get my car running and prove everyone wrong but... looks like someone here already got it running rite.... if the piston motors see a big advantage of switching from 8:1 to 10:1 pistons with less boost and get better results, get better tq down low. dont you think the rotary would benefit just as much? im gonna say it agian... i know im 16 but ive seen it with my own two eyes high compression turbo'd motors are just stright KICK *** look at his TQ at 4k rpms.... just shade more than 200ft lb wouldnt that be really nice stop light to stoplight? and he just made a little over 400hp with a t3 / 60-1 kinda like the stg 5 from BNR!!!!!!

Ya know, if you want a real high HP engine and put all kinds of research, work and money into one of these engines--then yes a high compression turbo rotary is for you. This is for racers and people that can afford to throw money at stuff.
IMHO a high compression turbo rotary will not last. I'd like to see some numbers of how many miles these engines last. I'm thinking 10-20k miles and thats probably real good for a race engine. Why do you think the TII and FD engines don't last anywhere near the mileage of NA engines?? It's cause of the extra high stress on the engine of running boost, higher pressure differentials, higher thermal loads, and higher HP.
Good luck with the high compression turbo, who knows, maybe you'll find something new and prove us all wrong.

Zenki turbo:  8.5:1
Zenki NA:  9.4:1
Kouki turbo:  9.0:1
Kouki NA:  9.7:1
FD:  9.0:1
Cosmo (both 2 and 3 rotors):  9.0:1
Basically all the Kouki FC, FD, and Cosmo rotors run the same compression ratio rotors.
I've already discussed this subject with slidingsky so the matter is moot. *grin*
