Bodywork

Ok guys, I was backing my car out of the garage and slammed my door into the garage frame (Don't ask)

There is a nice indentation about 2-2.5' below the window line right on the edge of the door. I guess I have a couple of options. 1) Try to get the door fixed and painted. 2) Buy a new door and have it painted, or 3) Primer it and let it go until I get the entire car painted.

What kind of costs am I looking at here for each of my options, and what would be the best way to go?

Ok, update. I think I might just buy a door skin. Its already primered, how much would it cost to just have it painted then?

I wish body work were that easy. I would suggest if you want it done right and you have never done that type of work, goto a body shop and get an estimate. They will have a lot better idea of what is needed to repair it than asking questions that people try to answer without ever seeing the damage to your car. I've worked at a body shop doing estimates and we never give estimates over the phone. The right way to do it is looking at the car first hand.

Hey you too That's what happens when you leave the light on and try to push/break the car out of the garage

My TII's drive side door has an airleak now, but I was able to get door to close correctly. It still doesn't line up perfectly so I'm assuming I'll need new hinges & will have to take the nose & corner panel off at least.

Yeah mazcare said the same thing - the bodyshop is cheap enough & the qualities better than what you can do.

Boy, you really got me there vaughnc, I actually was pushing it out, didn't even have it running. Haven't told my parents that though I had to start it and pull it forward to get it out of the garage.

I doubt the dent can be pulled either, its right on the edge of the door, just where there is like the one flap of metal.

How involving would it be to switch all my components from my door now to a new door skin?
