Body Kit and Performance!
I'm about to buy a 1988 RX7, It's in pretty ruff shape im going to do a complete restore on it, Im looking for a site that has decent pricing on Body Kits, Interior (With Carpet and the essential interior parts), and Performance Parts. I'm knew to the Rotary Engine this will by my first time to own one, I've worked on cars for years with my Dad this is my first Rotary Engine, Can someone give me the ups and downs on them as well? Thanks Your Posts will be much appriciated,

forget the body kit. To have that be the first thing you do would be kind of short sighted and ricey (IMO). I'd say the longer you own your TII the more you'll come to appreciate the stock body lines. If you want to update the body, get the s5 taillights (89-91), and paint the trim body color. victoriabritish.com (you've got to request a catalogue) has complete carpet sets for $230+shipping. The rotary is rad... Before you buy it, make SURE you give it a compression test. Do a search on how to do this with a modified conventional tester, or just have it done at a Mazda dealership. If you buy the car with anything below 85-85 compression, you'll be looking at rebuilding the motor within the next year. Oh yeah, when it comes to a forum like this, make sure you use the SEARCH function before asking a n00b question. Read the FAQ, and maybe take a look at the archives, most of your intitial questions can probably be answered there.

If you are located in Texas, check out www.rx7.com which is the web site for rotary performance. I think they are located in the Dallas/Fortworth area, but don't quote me on that. I havn't gotten anything from them to date, but I have shot them some emails about their products and they were quite helpful.
As for the body kit thing, I prefer the BOMEX kit, but a lot of people have mixed feelings about it. Your going to be hard pressed to find any kits for the FC, but they are out there and they are expensive. As far as I know the Bomex is now the cheapest (a little less than $700) and looks the best IMO.
Hope that helps. Good luck with the car, unless you run into major problems with your first one I'll bet money it won't be the last one you ever own.

A bodykit would help you be identifable in a crowd of other cars when you get pulled over.
Here are some clues: READ ABOUT THE ROTARY ENGINE BEFORE BUYING ONE. DO A FULL TUNE UP BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING. AND HAVE FUN WITH THE CAR FIRST. DON'T GO HEAD FIRST INTO MODIFIYING.
Play it smart.

Whether you end up getting a body kit or not, you need to spend the MAJORITY of your time learning the quirks of these cars and learning what you can and cannot get away with with the rotary engine.
Those that don't learn from their mistakes and the mistakes of others concerning a turbo rotary will quickly become broke! (Confuscious says)

Some full bodykits actually improve airflow over/around the car.

Hey addict, RexRyder was right...check out ebay. There are a few companies that are producing these awsome wide flared fender body kits for 2nd Gens. I have been checking out this company by the name of Oh2quickbodykits. They started selling a few kits on ebay not too long ago and they look really sharp. The pricing is pretty reasonable too. I just dont know how user friendly they are...
