Blue indicator lights in Logicon... would you buy?
Okay, I have been doing all sorts of cool parts for FC owners, and while some have done well, others have flopped entirely.
For example I made white faced Logicons because I had several people asking for them... But I didn't sell even one for a 3 months, and finally had to drop the price literally to what it cost me to make them to sell them. When this batch is gone, they are gone for good.
Or the nice machined PD adapter that let people use a replaceable GM PD on S4 cars, that I ended up giving half of them away, because no one wanted to pay the $60 that it cost me to make them.
Yet my rebuilt single windshield wipers sell out faster than I can get cores in.
So I am doing a little market research here.
I have been having quite a few people asking for Logicons with Blue indicator lights for the modes (face/feet/defrost/re-circulate/air condition on) and for the sliders. I have located some nice very blue lights to do it with, that need only minor modifications to make work (adds about another 30 -45 minutes to the rebuild of a Logicon).
So, my poll here is if I made the blue indicator/sliders with stock black face would you buy one?
Please do not vote yes if you are just thinking about it.

Then you have the option of either buying one already done and ready to go for $100 + shipping, or send yours in for rebuilding with the blue lights added (probably around $80 for rebuilding your existing one with blue lights and new mosfets, upgraded controller diodes, cleaned and resoldered throughout).

Yep, plugs in just like a normal logicon, bulbs still dim, when you turn on the lights (as they do stock). Nothing extra to hook up or change wiring or anything like that.
Everything works and is wired stock, just has blue lights for the indicators and sliders.

PS- This is why I am not devoting as much work into my AZ product line as I used to. Its just not worth the trouble for these punks(not to be an *** but its true) to run and hide when you come out with something.

unfortunately, this would be something that would fall under the 'rice' catagory, I'm not saying it is ricey, but 90% of your customers are going to be ricers or modders that have too much money. Neither of which are very common on this forum.
I would not pay for a rebuilt logicon, but this is my personal opinion. If anything, I would prefer to have a kit and do it myself.
kudos for the effort.

Yes, the pictographs on the logicon would stay the same. They would not change color. Only the indicators would.
Here is a picture of one on the bench. Now mind that it is in a very low light situation so the bright blue indicators look rounded in the picture, but I assure you that they look like the normal orange ones in person:
(with high/low air position on, recirculate on, Air condition on, and parking lights on)

#1 that a universal "just replace this part and it works perfect" really is not possible. In one wiper switch it might be a bad relay, but in the next it might be a burnt SMD transistor, and diode. It is almost impossible to know until you start testing.
#2 soldering skills. Many people that have no problems rebuilding a motor don't want to or don't have the ability to re-solder and replace Surface mount parts as well as standard soldered on parts. It takes a delicate touch to pull a SMD transister off the board and solder a new one in without letting the genie out of the new transistor or burning the board. So then you have people that say, "hey you sold me this kit, but my [insert part here] still does not work".

I wish I was driving!
Hate to say this again... but unless this will add 60 hp to the car GUARANTEED, or the part is absolutely required (people need working windshield wipers), I doubt you'll sell very many.
Product development for the FC is a waste of time. Lots of people say they will buy them, and then never do... take a look at how many people wanted a CF hood, then ask Dave Gibson how many he has sold.
Facts are facts: FC owners are cheap. I wouldn't waste your time.

I would guestimate the "group 4" people are maybe 5% of the people in here. Maybe less.

It's neat, and you deserve some credit for figuring out how to do it, but I just don't want one. I'd have to convert the rest of my interior to blue lights, so I really don't consider it to be worth the bother for me. Besides, I'm poor, and I need lots of other stuff before some pretty blue lights.

I have to congratulate Icemark for coming up with a new product for the fc. Please do not say you will by one and mislead icemark.
For those of you who are unaware/4got Icemark has helped nearly everyone on this forum solve some problem or another. Ive only been on the forum for half a year yet have gained a lot of respect for him.

hmmmm
Mark, can you do blue indicator lights into one of the remaining white faced logicons?
I bought an Indiglo dash set but haven't had the time to install it (so I'm not sure if I will be happy with the look), so at this point I'm only fishing as to the possibility of this combination.
My biggest problem that being in Canada, not only do I have to contend with a 31% increase for the exchange, I have to add increased shipping to the formula this usually adds a total of 50% to any published USD price for an item
Any luck with the 'electroluminescent version' that we spoke of in the past?

Ho's and Cadillac Doors
Icemark--Im very interested. My logicon is shitty, and it doesnt match the indiglo gauges in the car. Tell me how much for a rebuilt and properly functioning S4 logicon with blue indicators and a white face. I want one.
Im also interested in the pulsation damper adaptor, please tell me more about what it is, or how it works with the existing one.
I think one of the reasons you havent sold some things is because not everyone knows. I had no idea you were making any of these things, And I will buy the above stated logicon as soon as its available and be willing to let everyone else know how it is. I know you're a good intelligent guy, we need more stuff for our cars.
