Thx for your inputs guys, I appreciate it.
johnnyg - The body of the car and engine bay is getting a blue color. It is a lighter blue from the Sherwin Williams hot rod collection with silver pearl. This paint as well is a 3 stage.
End3r - As SonicRat said. It is on the upcoming list and savings now, with a stand-alone.
NOPR - I buy allot of stuff on the car but I make her deals like if you pay for your exhaust ill buy suspension.

Ice - Nice thread, you've got here. Very well done, and a nice walkthrough. My only crit (well, besides color of course), is that you painted the channels of the pullies.. won't this result in increased belt wear and slippage?

I cannot truthfully answer this yet. I sanded down the groves for the belts and made sure I did not get much clear into there. It may but I do not think it will judging buy how it is sitting right now. The factory is painted just not the same stage.

Again, that's MY tastes, so I realise that my opinion is quite meaningless to the owner! Really, I wish I hadn't said anything, but it was so...jarring!

Wow that is some amazing work. I have not seen a dirty engine turn around so well. Pink is well different, the pearl makes it looks nice. That is a really nice car now I would not mind owning it. Keep up the good work!

AFM mod
Well when I went to install my AFM it appeared to have suddenly took a **** on me. From the time I took it off to paint and install it gremlins got inside it and started bending pins around. Don’t ask me how but the last to pins had little tin pieces soldered on them that were sticking out and the rod that turns with the door hits each one as it opened. This was bad it caused the car to do weird things. Next the fuel pin not the flexing one was bent way in. I had to take a screwdriver and push it back into place. I then bent the flexible pin in some tested the door and fuel switched worked perfect. Installed it back in car for testing everything was great!
Since I cut the nice painted door out and I have a fascination of moding electronic pieces to have window kits I decided to mod the AFM lol :-D I took some plexi and my dremel with a press unit traced out the old door onto the plexi and cut it out. I test fitted the plexi all was good. For some unforeseen reason I could not find any clear silicone at my house so I used hot glue to mount it. We will see if it holds under the engine bay temps. If it does not I will simply peel it off and silicone it.
If I later mod this again I will put a LED inside it and etch the plexi with something like a rotor.

AFM mod update
The hot glue did not work I was sceptical. I will just have to silicone it latter.
However the AFM works great in its position :-) I like it more there the TID fits now and when I blow IC pipes the car is still drivable to the nearest pull off just without boost.

Wow I can’t believe there has not been tons of questions yet. How are you doing yours inflatablepets?
My update on the AFM location is it works GREAT! I am seriously likening it. It really makes no difference if it is before or after the turbo I think it is better here it reacts faster to what the car is doing. A few ups here are now more room for TID and with my BOV placement I am aloud to vent properly. My gas mileage is between 17 and 20mpg

Well, my new project is an 89 GXL. It has 52,000 on the chassis, was an auto. As far as what I've completed, removed auto, cleaned the DIRTY interior and gave it a good washdown. I have (and will) clean, inspect and detail every part of the car. I just dropped in the diff, now 4.10 gears and a torsen LSD. replaced the rear calipers too. I have to swap wiring harness out since the previous owner had cut this one out when the motor was pulled. The main thing with the motor right now, is it's a S4 reman with about 60k on it. I had it in my other S5, which my wife wrecked. (Best thing to happen to it). I am going 6pi turbo though. but first it'll be a running N/A so I can have it all assembled before winter. I haven't done all the homework yet but I'm looking for about 250+ to the wheels. I did port all intakes and am working on finding a blown motor to rebuild. It will (like I said earlier) be a high compression turbo with a decent SP. At this point I am sending the injectors off to be cleaned and blueprinted and am ordering all the gaskets. I thought it was neat how you seem to be going through a major portion of the car like I. Oh, I forgot, tomarrow I install the DTSS eliminators. It's a breeze working on a car with this few miles. I think it was garaged most of it's life too. Well, enough rambling, keep us up to date.

Paint
I thought I might have dropped my thrust bearing, so I pulled the front cover to discover that I did not drop it. Man all that work for nothing! As always when I take something apart I get this urge to make it look bettor even if it will be changed again . So I painted all the parts I took off. Allot of the parts will be polished later on but since they are off why not make it look a bit nicer for now. The front cover comes off I stare at the oil pan and say man it will only take me 10 min to pull it from here and seal it properly with less risk of leaking. Onto of that I look at it and said hell if it is coming down lets upgrade I walked inside and ordered a RB oil baffle pan . Well since RB is in cali it will take 1 week to get so why not paint stuff to look nicer. For paint on all finished or smooth metal surfaces I used dupli color metal cast and all ruffer sifrfaces I primerd and used dupli color metal speck. The drive pully, fan, oil pan where done in metal speck and the others were done in metal cast but the alt was primerd first. I just sprayd this alt quickly b/c it looked bad and the old alt went out and I still need to get a FD alt and polish it.
