I had a 1986 GXL which I loved. But I will admit that I am a little satisfied in the fact that I do not have to pour out large sums of cash to keep this car on the road anymore. I always said that as soon as I experienced any engine problems, that I would just get rid of the car and buy new. Well, that time has come. Another RX-7 going to the scrap heap! Actually, I am donating the car to charity because there is no way I will be able to sell it. At least I get the tax write off next year.

In case you are all wondering, I was going to stay with Mazda and go with either a Protege 5 or a new Mazda 6. But I thought it was time for a change considering my luck with Mazda has been far from enjoyable. You may blast me for this but I decided to go with a Honda. Yes, Honda. Its time that I finally got something with a good track record.
Only an idiot would confuse an exotic like an 17 year old RX7 with a modern mainstream Honda. Remember that the RX7 competed not with Preludes and Celicas, but with low end Porsches. I don't hear anybody bitchin about 1500$ water pump jobs on old low mileage 944 turbos. If you buy an exotic, you must also be able to either work on it yourself, or find a local mechanic that really knows the car. Enjoy your reliable Honda, just don't look into some owner complaints regarding new S2000 reliability issues.

(Sorry, not tryin to diss Hondas. I just get sooo tired of people buying them(and paying too much) solely on their over hyped reliability record. You should still at least test drive anew Mazda- remember the new ones has a 4year/50k mile bumper to bumper warranty )

peace, Bryan.
