Billett T-body adapters and FD-FC UIM/LIM adapters
I'm taking my billett T-Body adapter to my buddys CNC shop to reverse engineer it and move the intake hole over about 1/8th ov an inch. (it's FINE where it is... its just a BIT close to the oil filler tube but it does clear it with a 2.5" pipe and coupler, the guy who made it tried to get it as straight on as possible, and it works, but might as well put in some margin of error in case people use different stuff than i did for couplers. You could also use an N/A oil tube and get about 1/2 inch more clearance if you are doing an FMIC and a rebuild at the same time..
THe inlet is 2.5"
Here it is

I'm getting one made for another car I'm building, but I'm gauging interest in producing a run of them since we are going to go to all the work of programming the machine anyway... IMO, it kicks the Greddy version right in the ***.... Dunno what it would cost yet, but my buddy thinks it can be done for someowhere around 100 bucks.. (thats a big chunk of billet to hog out!!!)
Also... While I'm up there, we're going to make an S5 LIM to S6 UIM adapter..... THAT... we will be able to do for WAAAAAAAYYYYY less than the 345 bucks that I've seen other sites sell the Japanese iported ones for... Its going to be programmed also... so if there's enough interest we'll make a run of 'em for a group buy or something...

Let me know on the s5 to s6 adaptors...If they turn out good and for a decent price...you can count me in for sure!
I've been looking for something like this for a LONG time.

I'll talk with the "powers that be" once I get a price from my bud, if he tries to make a mint off of it... i'll shitcan the idea.... he owes me!!!
Looks like it might be worth a run or two from the feedback.

Yeah... I once thought about doing that.... but the big problem there is the transition point bewteen the upper and lower.... when you hog the LIM and UIM out so that the holes mate up.. you end up with this big, football shaped cross section and an area that goes from the FD runners, into a big void where you hogged it out, back to the FC runners....... THis is not conducive to good flow, it will create a lof of turbulence...
THe idea of the plate is that my making it an inch and a half thick, you can transition from the FD to the FC runners smoothly by making the holes in the adapter at an angle.. I'm going to make the plate about two inches thick for that very reason, a less steep angle in the transition.

The price should be really good..... there's nothing to it with that machine.... The cost of the aluminum bar stock will be about as much as the machining i would imagine

The hole are offset, and I don't know how you would take care of this short of a 3-axis mill or hand-porting the holes to get them aligned?
There is no way a 2-axis mill can do this short of "stepping" the transition?

I always thought "billet" meant a homogeneous hunk of virgin metal.
It can't be recycled, and it is made through a special process that uses virgin base ore that removes impurities and voids inside the metal.
A chucnk of "(gravity) cast aluminum" is not really considered "billet".

yeah, your definition is much better. I just wanted to give the basics. Thanks for chiming in with the rest.
