Beware Of A-spec
I would like you fellow Rx7 owners to know about a shop I've been screwed by. A-spec on shaft rd. Toronto They are the only rx7 shop i new of (refered by someone on here). They take my car and have it for a week or so when stated a day. put butcher job fins on. Always give mt car back scratched or chipped. Did a great job on my 3" exhaust then finished it by unplugging my boost sensor instead of FCD so my timing was not retarding under boost. (could of went boom). Told me thats the way they always do it. Always foget to put covers and bolts back on. And tell me my car is so clean I could roll back odometer. Hmmm. Now to top it off I just got a conviction notice in the mail because they put my car in a no parking area , got a ticket and threw it out. Now I find out a friend of a friend bought a protege of them and it turns out to a rebuilt unsafe wreck. NICE GUYS UH!
Careful in choosing your shop. ( THANKS ALOT T)

No I didn't know that . But if they are a sponser do you think I should not let our friends that take the time to help us know. i did not say anything for a few months because I thought it was just a whoops. But that f'n ticket made me rethink their respect for a customer. I do not complain and I am an easy agreeing customer not a push over. They filled the spots on my spoiler that did not line up with white silicone (black car). I spent as much time as they did correcting it. And I did not bitch. Sorry to rub anyone the wrong way. But the whole thing is wrong. As I said the exhaust job was great! But too many wrongs cover the right. Thats part of Business.
Kick me off if you want but I feel better if I helped one person choose a good shop.

I know, I should have known when I saw the shop but I was told they were good. When then unplugged my boost sensor to get rid of fuel cut. I started to get worried. as soon as I touched the gas my mixture gauge pinned rich. the car thought I was full throttle no boost all the time. Hmmmm. Swear by that . Sure the car was qwick but for how long?

well if I am correct, the owner of a-spec used to be part of / in association with MRU in toronto a few years ago. I went by there once, and never again. very dirty and unorganized mess I thought. perhaps they knew there stuff, but their attitudes towards me turned me off. and you can tell a lot about the staff and their work by the shop...
I recommend Mazdees in Pickering. I trust them, the shop is nice and clean, and they do a very professional and correct job. they are a little pricey, but you get what you pay for.
Chris (guru) and Pat at CP Racing have a shop in milton, they are nice guys too. I haven't had any work done by them yet, but they look like they do good work.
good luck

I hope you posted this In the Canadian Forum!
That shop Is ran by a bunch of Yahoos anyway. That shop should be used STRICTLY for parts. No work whatsoever. I mean, what do you expect from a bunch of guys who leave customers cars unlocked overnight.
Believe me, I have many negative things to say about these people that I care to mention...really!

If a shop does bad work, they do bad work. No reason to not say anything because they shell out some money for a board.

A-Spec (the Toronto one) are CROOKS!!!
I deal with a guy who is in business with them (though he is totally legit), and have heard some bad things.
First off, they are the guys who did the porting on my rotor housings. They simply removed the exhaust port sleeves, instead of replacing them with TII ones. (Not the most desirable method)
I can't complain about the porting work, and also, none of the assembly was done by them, so they couldn't have messed that up.
Get this- a lady with an FD brought her car there with some sort of oil leak- they saw that it had very low KM's, so they told her that she needed a new engine!!
So they ripped out her engine, took her pristine housings out, replaced them with some older ones, and fixed the oil leak.
The exact words that they said to my source were: "Yeah, there was no way we were going to let her keep those perfect housings!"
Holy crap.
Now, I don't know if the whole shop is corrupt or what, or only one or two people, but that's enough from keeping me EVER from going there!!!
BTW- I know I got my own housings back, they were in perfect shape, and still are.

That's unreal.
Almost as messed up as the PF Supercars engine stealing story in the 3rd gen forum...
That's the kind of stuff that can happen when you have to rely on a limited number of specialty shops, and need parts/work that not everyone has/can do...

With these many negatitive posts on a-spec, I'm still waiting for someone to claim that they are heros and they have something to prove to us that suggests they are not as bad as we claim them to be. It's like I said before, usr this place for parts and parts only!!!

hONDAH8ER Is the one who referred me to a-spec. And he is no better. My girlfriend bought a so called fresh out of the mold spoiler from a-spec and hondah8er picked it up and my friend picked it up for her from his house and not knowing that she was getting this for me hondah8er tact on his cut. $100. NOT IMPRESSED TO HEAR THIS. The fin was so out of shape no body men I know would touch it. So a-spec butcherd it on.
I was worried all you guys would crap on me for starting this thread. But all you guys helped me through most of my projects (except for stuff I can't do , exhaust) and wether you like it or not you guys deserve to hear it. And if memory serves me correct hondah8er has a diconnected boost sensor too, hehe , Maybe thats why he blew it.
