But that was still with the stock exhaust that had a couple leaks. Where do you shift at?
I shift ~3k generally, but I am running a turbo trans & rear, which makes my already heavy 'vert a tad heavier than stock. I probably need to have the injectors cleaned as well, I'm sure.

If you do any amount of city and stop-n-go driving, you're not going to get over 20mpg.

Sorry, but that's the nature of the beast...

I lost the vid now but when the fc came out they compared it to the porsche of that year and said it made 25mpg. Infact the only category the porsche won in was gas milage with 35mpg.

i don't think fish carbs were anything overly special. their main selling point was they did offer infinite settings to lean/enrichen the air fuel mixture. i have a 1969 mg midget and a book on it's engine tuning that compares different carbs. the best ones found for economy were the su's.

of course, that's with the a series engine...it might be different with a rotary, but i doubt it.

I think that you mean is this movie. I'll leave it on my site for a few days so you guys can play it...

And yeah, my mostly-unmodified S5 NA gets 21.change on the freeway. That's with a straight pipe where the cats used to be, a dirty K&N filter, and a maximum limit of 3.5-4k RPM's when cruising and shifting. I just can't run the beast at less than 3K and even remotely feel good about it... so little power down there...

I had a bone stock Zenki '85 GT-S hatch...
It would get 25mpg without even trying.
Get a little bit more conscious of your driving habits, and it'll shoot up to 30mpg.
Heavy freeway driving will reward you with 35mpg easy.
It's sick how good gas mileage those things get even with the stupidly close ratio transmission.
But then again, I gotta keep reminding myself it's only a 1.6 liter... :P
