Best fit Bra and Best Car Cover
Well, my car is comin out all pretty from the body shop this weekend and I'm going to invest in some nice stuff to protect the paint and body.
I'm having the shop mix me a small bottle of matching touchu (btw just crystal white again) and all te necessary cleaning products, mothers wax, eagle 1, new terry cloths, wheel cleaner, vinyl cleaner (interior) and some stuff to shine the black engine bay stuff........
Now I wan't a bra to protect my front end. I've searched and read the discussions on how some like and some don't and how much of an 80's thing it is but I want one for mine and need it in my area, ie. bugs and rocks. I'll be sure to take it off when I was and to put a coat or two of wax on first. But Who makes the best fitting, best protecting bra? I want the cloth one, not some spray on stuff.
Second, I was a custom fit quality car cover that will hold up to the Hot sun, rain, and even snow as I don't have a garage and live through some of the worst weather. What do you recommend?
Experienced info. is greatly appreciated although I'l take any advice at this poit in time. I'd rather pay extra for quality now, than even more to fix it later.

[QUOTE=1990RXHeaven] Who makes the best fitting, best protecting bra? /QUOTE]
^^^ I think the line is called Victoria Secret, they make all sorts of bras that you can't just get anywhere...
but seriously, the OEM one will probably fit the best since it was designed specifically for the RX.

For the best protection you want 3M bumper film. It is a clear film protective layer found on many new cars and is a dealer option even on the RX-8.

However you would need to cut the templates yourself, as the FC is too old for any body to want to make a kit for it.
And the Mazda Factory bra for the Fc was made by Lebra

Thanks for the bumper film idea but I'd really kinda like to have a bra. It's just my white fc thing. Know where I can get an oem one in good condition?

I have a Lebra. It fits great except for the headlights it kinda pooches up at the from outside corners. You can pull it back in to place but as soon as you hit the road it rides back up a little. All in all Im very pleased with it. Oh yeah when you wash it the hood piece collects about a gallon of water.

I have a new, never out of the box LeBra that came with the '90 vert I bought last summer. I have been a bit reluctant to use it. Car does not get a lot of highway miles. It has been my opinion that a bra is most effective when highway speeds can do the most damage. I am also a but fearful that prolonged use of the bra could lead to some discoloration under the bra. That may well be an unfounded or folklore diddy.
I rarely see 7's with a bra on. Anyone want to recommend continuous use of a bra? I'd be interested in comments.

Ive heard the same Jodoolin. In fact, I learned of it from a paint/body shop. I used to own one and sold it on ebay. I was OEM and was NOT 4 peice. Was a royal PITA to get the hood opened!

These are all great comments and I think the trick is to take it off when you wash it and make sure you have a clean waxed surface before you put it o. I'm also buying a cover so that when I'm not driving it the sun will not bleach it. Atleast my car is white. I think it is kinda hard to fade white (although I know it happens).
Any suggestions for car covers under $200?

Waterproof isnt what I'm looking for because water vabor already on the car when you put the cover on can't escape and can actually do more damage to your paint, especially if it is goig to sit for a long time. I want atleast a slightly fitted cover with woven layers to protect the paint but still breathe.

Be warned: A bra on your car will trap moisture between the bra and the car. Over time this will have negative affects on the painted area being covered by the bra. I bought my car with a bra on it. I don't know how long it was on there, but I believe it was a factory made bra because it said Mazda. I can still see the word Mazda in my hood. The car is one color, and everything that was covered by the bra is faded and dull looking. I had a MX-3 before and the same thing with that. Bought it with a bra, took it off, and could see the ugly effects on the paint. Only way I would keep a bra on a car was if it was covering a dent or something worse then faded paint.

The Lebra, OEM and a couple others breath. This prevents the moisture from building up and prevents what you (and others above) have described. If anything the color and paint under the bra will look brand new, while the rest of the car's paint ages.
The other way for discoloration or wearing, is if the bra is never removed or cleaned. All Bras should be washed and cleaned when ever dirt has built up or can be felt if sticking your hand between the bra and the car. If dirt is allowed to stay in the backing material it will cause wear.
And if it had Mazda on it and it does not have the 10thAE symbol, it was not an OEM bra. The OEM bra sets did not have any logos on it (except the one that came with the 10THAE).
Now crappy cheap-o wallmart style bras will not breath. Easy to check. wash the car and wash the bra (you need to take the bra off the car when washing). Put the bra back on while wet (and clean because you washed it in the clothes washer) and let them dry in the sun for an afternoon. Then check under the bra at night fall. The car and bra should be dry. If they are not, then thr bra probably does not breath. A bra that breaths will generally dry completely through in an afternoon of sun.
See bottom picture for the OEM Mazda bra:
