Best brake options for a 4 lug.
What are the best brake options for a 4 lug? My brakes are decent, but I'd like them to be better. I also dont have enough money to pull off a 5 lug swap, so the 4 pot brakes are an issue, unless I can swap them over without having an issue.
I was thinkin some hawk pads. Any Ideas on rotors, and do rotors from any other car fit?
Just doing some research,
Thanks
-Ian

well personally i would do some hawk pads or some EBC? green pads and some power slot rotors, then some SS brake lines for good line pressure. powerslot is the best for slotted rotors IMO. and the hawk or green stuff pads a a good bang for the buck.
but if you want to go serious, swap to 5 lug with 4 pot brakes they stop the car QUICK believe me

I am doing the 5-lug swap in about two weeks.
This weekend is clutch and hydraulic replacement. And a new rear U-joint.
If I were you, I would just replace the brake components that absolutely need it for now, make the car safe to drive. Then, save up for the 5-lug swap. You will be better off buying the same high-perf. brake pads, slotted rotors and SS brake lines for the 5-lug setup with better calipers than to settle for the old stuff.
I know, it seems like alot to undertake. One step at a time. Buy the 5-lug conversion from someone's parts car.
Order some caliper rebuild kits and work on that. Scan the group buys or occasional sales at our favorite websites and pickup the brake pads and rotors. Find some cheap 15" wheels to start you off (cause 15" tires are dirt cheap).
Now you have an top-notch brake setup with new tires to drive around on for a while.

Can Anyone lead me on to some 4 lug rotors?

this is where i bought slotted rotors for my caddy if they can stop a 2 ton giant then they will work for the rx7 and they do offer 4 lug rotors and just buy thier pads too they seem to work best. my cadillac ended up being under $400 for all 4 corners pads included
PS i put in 1988 for year cause i didnt know what you had but i dont think it makes a difference

As i said i have them on my cadillac all 4 corners its a great product. good quality not rust resistant like powerslot. but you can get some rust preventer and coat them with it and they will stay nice. but they do make that aero noise because its litterally chopping a new brake surface but its great for keeping the rotors un glazed and it "degauses"(sp?) the pads too so thiers less fade. i really like them thier good for everyday driving and great fo extra stopping power.
but i do recommend them
