does your car run alright with your afm vertical instead of horizontal? Without the fan shroud, your car isn
't pulling any air through the radiator just pulling air from the engine bay to the engine

i dont see how it couls evan make a difference wether its vertical or not?!? well i havent had any overheating problems yet but a fan is pretty useless when you on the move. its forced in and no longer needs to be sucked in. but it did overheat once because i left it sitting to long in my drivway.

My car wouldnt start with the afm at an angle- it does make a difference. For now I had to wire the friggin thing to my radiator hose to hold it up lol...

The AFM has a aluminum door in it that gravity will affect (I am pretty sure), and it should be mounted like it was stock (directionally). And nice job on putting in the cross member, but I'm going to be nit picky but get a grinder and know those welds down. And also why do you still have the PS bracket AC, Air pump, and rats nest??? get rid of that ****. But seing as how you live in TX I supose you might want the AC, but what the hell you got windows (and not 98 either ) And I just read your sig, and since you have gutted cats your air pump is dead weight along with the ACV, get rid of them.

It does make a difference. Pull your AFM off and think about how gravity acts on it

Can we say fro teched

Oh yeah and I'm not sure but I am pretty sure that the fan pulls air up to like 30 MPH or somthing like that, but I have just heard that. And the shroud will make a big difference in cooling, or at least it should.

i was planning on removing my air pump i already made the acv blockoff plate but i just need a dual alt. pully. also my ac i have it disconected but i may recharge it and re connect it cuz its getting fregin hot down here i come home everyday with the back of my shirt soakin in sweat from the leather seats(fells kinda good when you go in the ac though) and stinging eyes from sweat drippin in my eyes and its not even close to the hottest part of summer. well it doesnt seem to make a big diff. in my car mabe its stuck open or something??? so if its sideways it has a harder time opening right? yea i think im gonna grind those wealds down and weald over them again. have to hold good cuz if they dont up goes my hood.

Are you talking about the AFM??? If you are, and it was stuck open your car would run like ****!!!! And if it is side ways it will just make it have a little slower reaction time, but it might not make that big of a difference. But if you can mount it back the way it was stock I would do that.

oh buddy its shroud time in that bay - its beggin for it!

the fan pulls the air into the bay via the rad.. but.. how can it do that with no direction for the air?! crap dude!

the e-fan guys have them mounted AT the rad, so theres no worry about drawing air from far away because the blades are AT the rad.

but otherwise looks good in there..

i know what a shroud is used for you dont need to tell me i only took it off to install an electric fan which i havent done. you really do not need the fan or shroud if you are not in highway traffic or constant stop and go traffic. and yes i know e-fans connect right to the radiator where you need no shroud thats why i took it off

The shround only affects temp at idle. You might question this statement... but don't, because mines off... and the car get's warm when it sits in one place... Solution to the problem? turn off the car if it's gonna sit in one place for more then 10-20 mins. This isn't really a problem in traffic either.

Just FYI.

I'll be putting on an e-fan too. I had to remove it to put on a new rad, but didn't do the e-fan at the same time so i just left it off.

Oh, btw the bonez intake is supposed to mount vertical, but it has to be mounted with the right side up vertically, I found this out the hardway. I'll take a pic of my engine bay and let you know which side is up for sure.

What is wrong with you. How could you even turn a rotory on with out a fan. Are you crazy. Put that electrical fan or else just throw your engine away. The stock temperature gauge is not accurate and is inaccurate to 10 degrees.

10 degree's, WTF, thats not going to kill his engine!!! Look in my eye's a shroud is only so that there are no hot spots in the radiator. With no shroud an sitting still, it is probably just pulling air threw a smaller spot in the radiator. But get off his back about it, if he doesn't want it and he doesn't park his car and leave it running. Then let him leave it off, it if his anyways!!!

thank you i just think people over estimate what the fan is used for. if you had a dragster it wouldnt even have a fan cuz there is no need for it you line up do your burn out and go there is not alot of sitting with the car running. the fan really is only for when you are sitting there not moving. you can buy fans that flatten out so they dont suck anymore at higher rpms to prevent drag on your engine then when you slow down or your engine slows down it goes back into a fan shape
