Beeping, Oil Meter...

Hello everyone, I'm new to the rx-7 world. I recently purchased an '88 Turbo from a friend who needed a little extra cash for college. I've been looking over these boards for the past couple of days just getting ideas and seeing what others have to say about their vehicles. I joined to ask a few questions of my own.

The car runs fine, though i've come by a few things that i'm curious about. Last evening I noticed my oil meter was sitting at zero, I put oil in, and left it go for the night. Today I checked the oil and its level is fine, however my meter still sits at zero. I'm not sure if maybe I just didnt pay attention to it before, but I noticed my car beeps when i turn the key in the pattern of, "beep, beep beep, beep beep, ect." 5 times then stops. Wondering if these beeps have anything to do with the meter?

I read a thread about the passenger window and cleaning out the drivers side switch, I've done that, and can hear a clicking in the passenger side when using the drivers side switch but nothing happens. Motor gone out?

Lastly, there is a strange noise when turning the steering wheel left and right, but the noise goes away when giving gas. My power steering fluid is full.

Please remember this is the first time I've owned one of these and be easy on me, and I appreciate anyones help and comments.

Did another search on the beeping issue, found out it was the seat belt. Still curious on the oil meter and other things.

oil meter may be bad ground. How many miles since you noticed?

window motor: pull door panel off, use a 12V source (another battery a jump box whatever)
use wires to test the window motor by disconnecting the harness clip and touching the wires to the connectors one polarity is up the other is down.

Strange noise: need to be more more clear squeling, humming, grinding or what? could be belt, bearing, or pump going out.

what is your general automotive experience so I know where you stand with describing these sounds and maybe can compare them to other vehicles problems that you may be familiar with.

I'd have to say a good 30 miles or less. I checked the oil again last evening, its up to the full line, the meter still stays at 0.

I talked to a friend at work and he told me to clean out the passenger side switch aswell, I had only cleaned out the drivers side previously. I'll be doing that in just a short while here.

The noise is more of a grinding i suppose and the steering wheel gets a little tight, this only happens when pulling out or reversing from a stop. After getting the car going it goes away.

I don't have much experience with vehicles so I'm doing my best with descriptions. thanks for everything.

Still nothing with the oil meter.

Took apart the passenger side switch, cleaned, reconnected, you can now hear a clicking noise when using both the drivers side and passengers side switch for the passenger window, the motor inside seems to get warm like its getting power, though the window still doesnt move, just clicking noises when the switch is used.

I feel like I'm talking to myself here, isn't there anyone else out there other than tinvestor who can lend some info. thanks
