Banjo bolt... doesn't fit

Banjo bolt... doesn't fit
I've got an 88 TII parts motor i'm pulling junk off of, and I was told that I could use the banjo bolt from the front-end of the fuel rail to replace the PD on my 87 TII. I pulled the banjo bolt off the front of the rail, and just for good measure I decided to pull the PD off the parts motor with the intent to confirm that the banjo bolt would fit in the PD's threads. Well, it looks like this isn't the case. The front-side banjo bolt was too large to fit in the spot for the PD.
Anyone know why this is? Is the banjo bolt replacement model specific? (meaning, do I have to pull it off an N/A)
NOTE: I'm also looking at the "Earl's" replacement banjo bolt. The recommended size is 12mm x 1.25 /w -6an inlet. Is that correct for an '87 S4 TII?

I got the Earl's BB and it fit. I didn't try anything off of my spare fuel rails. The bolt alone costs around 10 dollars but its usually out of stock so you have to buy it with the fitting and that brings the price up to 25 dollars.

I removed my PD last month and replaced it with an Earls banjo bolt ($7.99 + shipping from Summit). Worked great. I did it as preventative maintenance and when I got the top intake manifold off, I saw that the PD was starting to leak fuel again. I had replaced the original last year, if indeed it was the original. At that time my car almost became another PD fire statistic victim.
I'm glad I replaced it with a permanent fix. I have noticed absolutely no ill side effects concerning the engines performance with the pulsation damper gone. While you're in there doing this mod, may I suggest replacing all the rubber fuel lines in the area under the upper intake manifold. Make sure the fuel line you purchase is for FUEL INJECTION !
I did have a spare fuel rail. Prior to installing the Earls BB, I tried the BB from the spare but it did not fit.

here is what i have saved from RETed's site :
"I've been digging around, and Summit Racing offers JUST THE BANJO BOLT, which is an Earls part number 997591.
I punched in part number "EAR-997591", and it's priced at $7.99 each.
I know people were buying the banjo bolt AND banjo double fitting, which is the Earls part number 807991, but you're wasting money with the extra parts. Summit price for EAR-997591 is $26.39 (it's currently on back-order). What is good enough this part is that is comes with two aluminum crush washers, which you actually need.
You can get the fuel rail (copper) crush washers from the Mazda dealer.

NOTE: I did not have good luck with the aluminum crush washers that came with the banjo bolt. I ended up using the mazda copper crush washers instead.

Mainly because it is no doubt vrey old and will most probably tear appart which would cause a vacume leak when you put it all back together.

no prob, thanks for being quoted earlier. problem is, now i'm pissed. they charge flat-rate handling; "no shipping charges." has this not upset anyone else? geez, i want to do a group-buy just to get a bolt without getting ripped off.

Part numbers have been updated.

I've been looking into getting those stupid things at wholesale and offering them to you guys without the stupid handlings charges, but things have been mega busy on my side.
Hopefully I can set up some kinda deal sometime later this year!
Sorry, a lot of the business side of the website has been put on hold right now - I'm in the process of starting a new job, so that's been taking up all my time right now.
Thanx again casio!
