Own an 88 GXL with 108 k on it, and this problem just started like 3 days ago, when i first turn the engine everything's fine but when i turn it off and after a while i turn it on kind a want to die, the rpms goes from 1k then drop to 400 and start shaking the again go to 1k then again 400 for like 20 or 30 secs doing the same thing until somehow it fixes by itself and stay in idle could be bad compression or bad sensor or timing or wtf? also when i totally stop and gear is in first the rpms starts to jump from 1k to 1200 then drop to 600 or 700 then again to 1200 and it stops until i shift to neutral or leave it like that for like 20 or 30 secs
it's to damn crazy


Does somebody know whats tha hell is wrong??????

Sounds like a bad Throttle Position Sensor (TPS). Or it just needs to be adjusted. Also, if the engine hasn't been tuned up (spark plugs, wires, O2 sensor, fuel filter, etc.) it will probably need it. Hope this helps.

ok, I tuned up the engine 5 days ago, everything except the O2 sensor, but right now i'm getting 2k of hestiation, italways have 3k when i startup and the engine was cold, WTF? and after that it get like 500 sometimes even 400rpms at idle speed almost trying to die, how can i check and if i can adjust the throttle sensor or throttle cable????? helpppp plz!

Still sounds like a TPS problem. Is yours adjusted properly? If you measure it with a scope or ohmmeter, is the whole resistance range smooth?

Or perhaps, badly leaking primary or secondary injectors.
