Bad news
I got tired of trying to get all the air out of my 87 RX 7 coolant system. So I took it to a place that specialized on Japanese cars. They finally determined the problem to be the coolant seal. I only have about $500.00 in it so I am thinking of storing it until I can afford to buy an engine. The body has no dents , the automactic transmission operates flawlessly. Good brakes and new tires. I don't fully understand the rotary system but enjoyed driving the car what little I was able.

if you do store it and plan for a rebuild, drain ALL of hte coolent, thers a plug on the side of the block near the driver side motor mount....
otherwise u let it sit with a bad coolent seal it leaks into combustion chamber, and when u tear down engine months downt he road everythings rusty!

he said he was going to buy another engine. so there's no point in taking care of this one unless he plans on selling it.
if you are, then pour ATF into the combustion chamber (through sparkplug holes, intake or exhaust and turn the motor several times (with EGI fuse out). this will help clean the carbon deposits and make it easier to clean and take apart.
