Running rich, or misfiring. Overheating cats, overheating engine.

With a stock exhaust... EGR tends to feedback too much when running rich and the pre-cat(s) heat up.

Well, my car does not flood. Once in a while I can smell gas when I really get on it. I have been told that I am running rich just for the simple fact of my backfiring. But I just think I got that down to a science though.

My delima is that around 6500 rpms, the car hesitates like the gas/air mixture is screwed up. This lasts till about 7200rpms, then it gets all of its power back. This is in 1,2, and 3rd gears.

Any ideas? Thanks

injectors

my car keeps fouling out plugs really fast (in like 10-20 mins) and stalling out. then its hard to start back up when hot. someone told me bad injectors leaking onto plugs? its not even reliable enough to drive.

well, for the hesitation i would check the regular stuff like, tps, and deffinately your boost sensor. mine had thae same kind of problem it's my boost sensor i believe i have a new one on the way to confirm. but, it used to hesitate just at 4k then it started to hesitate at 4k 5k then 4k 5k & 6k you get the idea, if you have a dmm i'd check the boost sensor on teh passenger shock tower facing the headlight. also could be a slightly misadjusted tps (doubtful) but it never hurts to check it any way.

just my 2 cents
