Bad gas malage after install fake(RFL BOV)

so i got this BOV from kijiji it was 60$ i figured it was fake no big deal it wont sound as good nor alst as long. but as long as it holds my 6-12 psi il be happy.
so i just installed it to day did some driving around witch i think i should still have half the gas i had left in there i went from 1/4 tank to just about empty driving across London Ontario...
i did notice that once i hold the gas i seam to lose more boost faster then i used to il try to add a shim to see if it helps that and the gas millage...
i guss the ??? here is would a Big bov like this 1.25" inlet make my car harder on gas? (please note i was using the stock bov vented to the air with a plumbers check valve)

thanks for your inputs!
