two step is really only for drag cars..... it is pretty much a "controlled" misfire that occurs in the exhaust manifold to spool the turbo while the car is standing still. I know it was also used on rally cars to keep the turbo spooled between shifts. problem is, it puts a TON of stress on the manifold and the turbine wheel. i read somewhere that even a high quality tubular manifold will only last 150 miles or so on a rally car... 500 on the street.....

my car when it was untuned.. couldnt keep them under control, thanks to that my intake manifold is now nice and crispy!!!!!!!!!!
edit: and yes flames work satisfyingly good for tailgaters.. i once shot a giant fireball at some *** tard tailgating me when i was already going over the limit.. after he got a nice bright flame in his face he stayed 20 car legths behind me at the next stop light!! it was priceless

I recently gutted all 3 of my cats and am no longer running the split air pipe. My car likes to pop/backfire at high RPM's but I can never get a flame...why?

probably does, just too small to see.. + its a N/A they dont shoot that big of flames anyways generally speaking. Get a TII with a bov and fuel pump, and strait pipe exhaust you'll be shooting 3 foot flames no problems..
