passenger side, a little before the shifter (before being toward the front of the car), about the same height on the trans.

If your harness is missing from the transmission there will be two prongs where the harness should be. You can take two female bullet crimps and create a patch cable from transmission to your harness.

I don't have any wires under it, but i do have two seperate plugs that are in cab and would be just over the shifter. If those arent them couldn't I just run a 13 volt power to the switch, than from the switch to the back up lights?

The harness for the reverse...neutral and over the top switches is NOT inside the car. It was a part of the ENGINE harness (E) that mates with the Front (F) harness in the engine bay (aft part of the engine bay).

As suggested above ........it seems your missing this part of the engine harness.

The wires over the shifter you mention.................if they do NOT come from inside the car they could be whay your looking for. Compare the colors of those wires with the ones in my jpg just above.
