back seat pics
anybody have pics that show how much room the back seat has? Im trying to talk my wife into letting me get an fc but it would have to be a 2+2 unless the back seat from my 83 parts car will bolt right in. I am just curious about how much room there will be in the back for my 2 and 3 year old.

The FC and FB are totally different. The rear seats from the FB will most likely NOT bolt in.
Many people ditch the rear seats. You might find some for cheap on here.

Never had anyone lay down in my rx, but a few years back a buddy wanted a ride, car was already full, he said he would ride in the trunk. Boy was that a ride for him. LOL. He thought it was a blast also. Hitting corners as hard as we could, he was just a laughing back there. We could hear him rolling around. Thought I was gonna have to pull over we were laughing so hard... Crying because. That was the best.. do what I did, buy an rx as your 3rd car. My wife won't drive it, so I know its safe from her, and Ill take it for a ride to work, or where ever the kids and her are not going.

ya, I got the +2 seats for my 2 year old. seriously, get a 4 door car. I'm lucky I have my impreza still. heres a random thread I googled with pics of the rear seat spacing http://www.tamparacing.com/forums/ma...eats-sale.html
you might be able to pull it off when the kids are out of the carseats/boosterseats until they are maybe 13-14yrs if you keep it that long.lol.
You might be better off going with a 240sx hatch or 89+ 300zx 2+2. I think that the rear seats in those cars might have more room but thats for you to research. plenty of sporty 4 doors out there though like older bmw's, subaru's are nice and they have the wrx turbo models.

I don't know if I'd be too excited about transporting children in car seats in the back seat of an FC. For one, it's not going to have LATCH connectors like just about every sedan, SUV or van made in the past 10 years, so it won't be as easy to connect them securely. Not to mention that this is a 20+ year old, small, lightweight car you're talking about that isn't going to provide that much crash protection if you're ever in an accident with somebody in an Escalade. On the other hand, I survived a childhood riding around in my parents' 1973 AMC Matador with no car seats, airbags or shoulder belts...

ya, an FC just isn't safe at all for every day driving with kids in the car. I live in town and am very cautious when I drive my car but an accident can happen at any time still. I live in a rural town so its not as big a deal but I wouldn't haul my daughter around in a place with a lot of traffic. I hardly drive with her in that car at all because of all that, I'm only 24 and didn't think about all this until after the fact. but the seats are still useful if you have a couple friends that need to go across town. if you still want to get the seats, at least don't use the car as your primary transportation for your kids. use it as a now and then sort of thing.

Mostly they were dangerous to your wallet. I think my dad put three transmissions in that piece of junk before getting rid of it. Also both front fenders were so badly rusted along the tops that you could see the ground through them and they'd both flop around when he slammed the hood.
Otherwise, it was probably no more dangerous than any of the other giant 1970s American cars of the day. Not as bad as some of the early 80s GM products that were known for brakes that would suddenly give out, or the '84 Fieros that would catch on fire if you overfilled the oil.

rear seats in the fc are probbaly just as bad as they are in the 1st gen. there should be enough room for children of that age. rear seats from a 1st gen will not bolt into a 2nd gen.
keep in mind the fc rear seats only ahve a lap belt, id otn know if your kids still need car seats or not but im not sure how u would botl those in. they should prolly be safe in teh back if the seat belt will fit snuggly. but i dont know i dont ahve children.
