Unhappy Back to Mazda

90 vert. This car won't run right after I tried hooking up a after market airfilter. It starts rough then it smoothes out but no power. The engine is 1000 miles old and all I did was try to run another airfliter and box.

I tried to reset the ecu and still the same!

I just know the dealer is going to have a field day with this.

Have you tried putting the OEM airbox and filter back in?

If you haven't, do it. Many dealers will balk at the sight of aftermarket parts.

You know you need to keep the AFM right? If you put your new fancy filter on the intake tube and removed your AFM then you would have all sorts of troubles and MAZDA will charge you about a grand to tell you that your AFM is missing!

AFM is back in place.
I don't know if there is an airleak.
How often do the AFM's go bad? What are the symptoms?

Thanks!
