Bac ???

this is for a 88 gtu N/A
in the haynes manual i think there is 2 way of checking the BAC 1 is to use to pos+ and neg- hear a click and teh other is use a multimeter to check the ohm/volt..my question is am i suppose to take it apart from the engine before checking or leave it on...and how much is for a new BAC? or can it be rebuild?

You can check the electrical while on the car. First measure resistance with a meter to be certain it's not an open circuit. If no open circuit, then connect 12 volts across the selenoid to see if it clicks. If everything ok, you'll need to check to see if the inner seal is actually creating a tight seal. Remove the BAC, then you can spray some WD40 into the tube to see if it flows past the seal. If that is the problem, I'd replace the BAC as cleaning is only a temporary fix.
I'd try an used one, but sometimes that's hit or miss.
