AUTO-->MANUAL rear end question

I've read a bunch of the write ups on the swap already.
And I'm getting ready to buy the parts needed and do the swap within the next couple weeks.

But I'm still unsure of one thing. So do I HAVE to swap out my rear end for a manual rear end? I understand that its probably best to.

But can't I just do the manual swap with the, tranny, pedals, cylinders.
Does the manual driveshaft bolt up to the auto rear end?

Thanks
