Auto Crossing pics from Sunday! (1 funny one)
Check out the pics from sunday, Notice the starting guy holding his ears on my launch!!! Like i said the exhaust is super loud. He had those aircraft earmuffs on too....

Check out the creamed cone under the car. I still came out on top in my class. beat 4 miata's all with suspension and 3 with race rubber on.... Can't wait till my spings and struts are on and the strut bar get here...
I should be a little more competitive with new suspension as opposed to 180k old stuff.....

lol, looks good though, get another pic from the same angle once you install the suspension. To show the difference from stock. People would rol their windows up when i went WOT next to them on the freeway.......as if the window was gonna help.lol

i went to the SCCA event there once... that's the Nashville Superspeedway... i live in Brentwood and have 89 GTUs... do you live in coolsprings as in brentwood/franklin by the cool spring mall or a town called cool springs??

It's called being nice. If someone wants a ride (first timer, didn't get to walk the course, etc.), then you should give it to them, just simply get one or two runs to yourself.

I had faster times then everyone else in my class....
I always have a passenger because i only go out for fun, my dad rides with me i ride with him, my brother in law (15 years old) likes to ride, and even with two passenges i do pretty well, so i always let people ride...
It's a blast.... Anyways I live by the cool springs mall in franklin, come by some time, I plan on showing up at the "back yard burgers" car show every saturday this summer i'd love to see your car!

hey RRTEC do you have to pass emissions? can you pass with your streetport and exhaust setup?
if you dont have to pass emissions, i'd say swap in a test pipe for that cat, but that'd make it even more insanely loud... of course thats what im going to be doing soon (racing beat header, dual 2.5" inlet 4.5" tip bomz mufflers, and 2.5" piping all the way through no cat)

Unfortunately YES i must pass emmisions...I barely passed last time i went through but the car was 180 deg out of time...and the tps was way out of whack... If i don't pass i'll just tranfer tags from my wife's Alero and then get her new ones.. ...I am so sneeky somethimes. How are you going to run no cats? wire the 5/6 open?

well you can do it two ways... either hook the actuators up to the acv relief line or air pump, whatever, something that will supply enough pressure to open then... or do what i did and remove the actuators/sleeves/rods/etc completely!! the more you mod your n/a the more the sleeves become a restrictions and removing them gains more power, from what i've read in the archives ported motors get more of a gain from removing them than non-ported motors... I dont know if this affects emissions tho, but im saying F@#% emissions

Everyone has different preferences and driving style.. if you're going to do this, be VERY careful taking everything out (the screws holding the rods in that open the sleeves are VERY tight and may strip). The way icemark told me to do it was to put the line that draws vacuum to open the ports into the acv relief line. It is the line coming out of the acv and going to the acv silencer in the passenger side bumper area. What you'd do for that one is take the vac line that goes into the split air solenoid line that goes to the cat and replace that with a silicone line that is long enough to reach the acv relief line. You will now connect a little nipple tap thing (cant remember the exact name right now), it is a plastic thing that has openings at 2 ends (i found this at a schucks), so you'll put the vac line for the actuators into one of the ends of that plastic piece and then put the other end into the acv relief line. To make sure its tight, drill a hole in the acv line that is slightly smaller than 3/8" (or whatever size adapter you use for the vac line, i used 3/8") and jam the adapter in the hole you drilled (make sure its tight enough)... You can use silicone (highly suggested) to make sure there are no leaks on the hole you drilled or where the vac line connects to the adapter.
The other way you can do it is the same as stated above but instead of putting it into the relief line you put it straight into the airpump line that goes to the acv. I've heard of/seen both ways used, I'm really not sure which is best. I've also tried both ways and they seemed to work. You can always put it in the acv relief line and then do the grease test on the actuator rods to see if they open properly, and if they dont run it into the airpump and check to see if that works (and then plug the hole in the other line with slicone or something cuz you'll have a leak).
After doing those and reading the thread in the archive, i just ripped mine out

Well my "plunger" is jammed....It won't move up or down. I have been trying to search and get an answer on how to tell if they are stuck open closed or half way.... That's why i am exploring other options.... OR..if the previous owner wired them open...i really don't know.
