Question Auto to 5 speed swap...IMPORTANT Q

I hvae read the write up on the automatic to manual swap, and it says something about making an adapter to use the automatic crossmember on the manual tranny. My manual transmission CAME WITH the crossmember attached to it already. Can I use the manual transmission crossmember and totally skip this fabricating step? Thanks guys for making this swap a whole lot easier...

No. The difference is not the manual crossmember. The automatic trans has a longer case (and a shorter driveshaft). IT also has a fat oilpan. BEcause of this, they located the auto's crossmember way back on the trans, almost at the tailshaft's end. So, the mounts in the car are set way back. ON a 5sp car, the trans is smaller and the crossmember would up being closer to the front. They actually made the floorpan different for auto and 5sp cars...the mounts are welded in different locations. So, even with the 5sp's stock xmember in place, it is useless, because the mounts in the car are in a different spot.

Dumbass, you could not be any more wrong. Why the f*ck would you want to go around spreading misinformation? You just add to the problems, and you can cost others time and money. IF you don't know, don't act like you do. This is f*cking bullshit.

Even if you truly believed what you were saying, explain to me how that's posible? The engines are obviously in the same spot. IF the transmissions have the mount in a different spot, how in the HELL could the chassis have the mounts in the SAME place??
