Maybe if your really luck they will make it a Roots type!
40% efficiency makes me wonder why I ever bought a viper to compete with you in the first place.
*(notice sarcasm)*
ps - does jackson racing make centrifugal superchargers?

Hey I would get the supercharger kit definitely...but if it were cheaper or easier I would go turbo with my 88 N/A. They have a supercharger kit at Atkinsrotary.com right now, just have to go to carbueration or buy another throttle body i think. You guys should check it out. Peace.

Well, to the best of my knowledge...the Camden supercharger(from Atkins) is only carb....even though they have a pic of a fuel injected one. Not to mention, Jackson racing is more reputable w/ Mazda..seeing as how they make some nice superchargers for the miata and such. I dunno, I just thought it would be interesting to see how many of you would not be NA if you had a choice...

I would if it was CA street legal. I have a paxton blower (from a nelson kit), but can't get it into my car because I don't have any brackets or piping for it. I would definitely be in if it was street legal

i think that the roots type would probably be the best SC to get...i dont think the jackson is that style.
turbos would be the way!
takes way less HP to run than a pully driven SC
benefits from exhaust pressure
HP increases arent linear
doesnt have weird power curves like centrifuglal blowers.

how does the roots style differ from centrifugal in the amount of power it uses? It is pulley driven just the same.
Exhaust pressure has nothing to do with it.
Horsepower increases ARE linear unlike centrifugal.
As its been said already just go turbo.

Why cant somebody do something different? So many people are saying "if you want a fast RX7, put a turbo on it." Thats fine for people who dony mind being like evrybody else, but what about the people who want to be different? I dont want a turbo on my car just because I like being different. The originality has definately been lost among enthusiasts. Look at how so many hondas are the same. Same bolt ons, etc. What is there to set someone apart from everybody else?
I would definately buy a supercharger for my car, but I dont like the Jackson racing kits very much. They are great kits, but not what I want.
The Lysholm twin screw superghargers like Whipple uses are much more to my liking. www.whipplesuperchargers.com

I agree w/ you Mazdaspeed7, I love being different, why else buy a rotary? lol..I am trying to do a lot of custom to my car, but we are some-what limited being 7 owners. Anyways...my goal is still to obtain a street driveable NA 7 w/ around 250HP. Its not hard to get that from an NA, it just takes time and $$$, wouldnt take so much time if only I had more $$$$, lol

Once I get my intake temps down, 230 hp is still very optimistic for my hp. I think that 240 hp or so is the limit for stock port, but thats with Haltech, and tuned to perfection. 280 hp is probably possible with a good street port and Haltech and such.

I've been looking for a good kit.
I don't anyone makes a Lysholm S/C for our cars...
I don't know alot about all the different kinds of S/C.
All I know is that I WANT TO GO FAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But...I want...
#1 - Reliability - My vert is a daily driver
#2 - Power - Because I used to drive a 90 Toyota Camry with 230K miles...probably ran 30's in the 1/4 mile.
Everyone with a S/C Rex please reply and tell me...
#1 - Which S/C you have...
#2 - How realiable...
#3 - How powerful...
#4 - Are you satisfied...
Thanks,
Alan - 90 Vert

Doesn't Jackson Racing only sell Roots or Twin Screw style superchargers (ie: the shitty kinds) ?
Turbo is the way to go.
If you are a guy that likes Superchargerr though, (they can still make a car rip fast!) then at least get a centrifugal unit.
