Sags on driver's side (right) by ~2cm with all new mounts and lots of fiddling.
erm, driver's side (other right= left).

I haven't read all the posts, and yes tonight I am that lazy....but on 20yr old cars with as many connecting and securing spots liable to cause it to be off a little bit here and there...I just don't think you can jump on the exhaust being the cause. Mine sags a bit on the driver side for what it's worth.

Don't you think that if it were just the effects of aging that the droop would be randomly seen on either side instead of predominantly the driver's?

I had mine adjusted by bending or welding on new hangers, considering the car is 20 years old I already had it in my head it would not bolt on 100% and that I would be happy with it as-is.

And for the record the exuast was leveled from downpipe back, if you think its going to bother you that much then have a shop do it so it can be adjusted and be perfect.
I would be concerned that different hangers might age differently, I would always be staring at the mufflers wondering if they were still straight or not.

I have also noticed that one side of my turbo-back system sits a little different than the other. It really isn't very noticeable on mine though so I never thought much about it.

i can dig up pix when i'm home but on my turboback system it was a bit off. i used heavy duty zip ties to pull the mufflers into center position and just below the cutouts perfectly (home depot racing FTW) but i kept the rubber donuts on (just in case the zipties failed)

It could be the product, all I'm saying is not to loose sight of other contributing factors. All the connecting parts, age of the car, having the exhaust put on and tweaked by a performance exhaust shop compared to installing it on jackstands under a shady tree, etc. There are people on the forums with more experience with the RX and this exhaust than me. I'm just being devil's advocate.

Here's my experience with the exhaust. I had the N/A exhaust on my vert before a TII swap. It was a bit off on driver side. I put the REVTII exhaust on after the swap. It also is a bit off on driver side. But I also had a problem with an engine mount that had the engine a wee bit ****-eyed. That problem was fixed, and was told to take the car to an exhaust shop so they could adjust the exhaust for the change from new engine mounts. That was before my TII swap. The same exhaust is now on my father's vert, offhand I can't recall if it was off on his car or not. Next time I'm over at their place I'll try to remember to look.

With the REVTII exhaust it's off by the same bit that the N/A exhaust was off. BUT other contributing factors are that my car was rear-ended at some point in it's life. Not bad enough for major concern..however the driver side muffler hanger is off a bit. Also I've had consistent problems keeping the passenger side donut at the presilencer to stay on. Every day driving will cause it to occasionaly come off the hook on the presilencer.

That's my experience for what it's worth.

I think one would be crazy to think a dual muffler exaust is going to be totally level right out of the box

I've been thinking that since I first saw the thread. This might be why aftermarket companies..and customers...have gone single exhaust.

My Rev II isn't level either. I swaped out all the rear donuts and its still uneven. I've even tried taking out all the sag; even the exhaust shop tried to get rid of the sag. We didn't try heating it up and adjusting it though.

My left muffler sits about 1" lower than the right. I've measured the angle at the flange, and they're both completely different, so it's no wonder. This is with a turbo cat back system on BOTH of my cars, and with all sorts of hanger combinations.

One of these days I'll get around to cutting it / rewelding, but I've just left it for now. I even called RB back when I first installed the system, and they of course just blamed rubber hangers. Their fixtures must be very sloppy if they're getting so much variance in the angle after the flanges are welded on.

When I had the Racing Beat exhaust, I had the same problem as most of you guys with one side hanging lower. Yea, it did bother me so what I did was when I got it up on stands, loosened all the bolts from downpipe back, used another jack to level everything and tightened all up.
Then it looked ok.
The one side hanging isn't due to damaged or sagging bumper. It can't be when so many have the same problem.

when you guys installed them, you mocked it up with all the flanges still loose and then move it around as you went to tighten them all down right???

if you just started bolting pieces of it on and the end result is alittle off....its most likely your fault , any exhaust will be off if you dont mock it up with the flanges still loose there's still a bit of play around the flanges enough to throw it outta whack

So, what Racing Beat needs to do is include turnbuckles on at least one set of the mufflers mounting hangers so that the tip height can be adjusted.

I tried zipties and they broke, I tried stainless steel zipties and they broke. Damn heavy exhaust and coilover spring rates.

Chain was my next idea, but I like turnbuckles more now

And in response to lining up the flanges before tightening everything down, I did that and the driver side still sags.
