ATF trick...ruins spark plug wires?

I know the ATF trick ruins the spark plugs but what about the wires? I have some NGKs on and don't really feel like buying new wires for my car.

No, it won't damage your wires.

there is no way that the atf treatment could affect your wires. The plugs become fouled because they are in direct contact with the atf. Wires cannot become fouled. I see why tou'd check though( I had NGK's on my RX-7 before it caught on fire and burned to the ground)

Didn't think so, just wondering though. If so I would go get some el cheapo's to do it.
