Arggggg Tps!!

Ok, I had a post about my car having a problem that it would on occasion not go over about 1750 rpm. Apparently I need to adjust my tps, and someone said something about my tps plunger could be intermintantly sticking. Question: what is my tps plunger and what does it look like? How do I know if it is sticking? Could I need a new sensor? All help is greatly appreciated. My car thanks you.

One more thing-
I just "check my tps sensor" and I think it may be bad. I checked the ohm reading ono the sensor at idle from the lower right and top connector deals and I got NO READING. However, when my car was off, the reading was 1 ohm. I take it I need a new sensor?

That is a picture of the TPS plungers....On 86-88 models there is only 1 plunger though, and I don't know what year your car is.

If you do a search for TPS you will find a TON of posts that give excellent descriptions on how to properly adjust the TPS.

If you're using a resistance check, the TPS must be unplugged.
