APEXi SAFC or VAFC = universal?

Apparently they're universal, does anyone have any experience getting one of these set up in a TurboII?

I'm picking up an S4 TurboII and it's running stock electronics (not quite safe IMHO) with an FCD, fuel pump, 720cc injectors, and a fuel pressure regulator.

It's tuned for the injectors by the fuel pressure, which I thought was kinda odd, but I guess it works.

I want to pick up an SAFC or something, and a buddy of mine has a VAFC for his Honda that he has installed but really doesn't use. I should be able to pick it up from him for cheap, but I don't know about installing it in an FC. There's a shop around here that says it'll be fine, I might just do that...

But how hard is it to install this sucker?

And I guess how hard is it to tune it?

And are these a good choice to go with with aftermarket injectors? I'd rather have the ECU be able to read and retard the timing above 8 lbs boost, but an AFC can't do that, and without a reprogrammed ECU it'll hit cutoff without an FCD... so I'm kinda at a loss here..

I definitely don't have the cash to go standalone at this moment (well I do, but we're digging out of debt and that'd kinda **** on that parade)...

And yes I searched.... but I suck at searching and didn't come up with much...

yeah that's for a VTEC enabled engine (or VTEC type I guess, something with an RPM activated solenoid.. it also knows when the car is on the high cams so you can change the fuel enrichment appropriately... which I suppose I could use for boost or something, I dunno..)

AFAIK, a V-AFC won't work...

The guy I bought my car from originally bought one, and could not get it to work. After asking here, he was told it would not work.

He sent it back and got an s-afc II

Now mine. haha

If you can get the vafc cheap... get it and sell it. Then buy an s-AFC.

aparently you can't select the flap type air sensor on the Vafc's so it won't work.
