apex seal

Former Moderator. RIP Icemark.
You need to do a little research, as replacing apex seals involves rebuilding the whole motor, and you will need to replace all the seals (and probably a rotor and housing) and not just the apex seals.

people have seemed to have good luck with the www.rotaryaviation.com apex seals that are prices considerably lower than that of the mazda seals. check them out, they are 182 a sec witch is lower than the 350 or so for the oem seals.

182+ shipping for RA seals isn't that much more of a discount over the $240 for OEM apex seals. I'd go with the MAzda seals for the extra $10 per seal.

id like to know too? and does anyone know what kind of prices dealerships have for engine parts vs mazdatrix? because i have a 10% discount coupon (haha) that i got from the local mazda dealer to use and i may just go with that if the prices are the same as mazdatrix...cause i can just save like 150 bucks after everythings added together

scathcart is probably getting them through the mazdacompetition website. You have to be a member of a racing orginization to be able to get those discounts. If I could have gotten that discount I would have went with the oem seals. Other wise RA seams to be the key.

lol. Called my local mazda dealer and they wanted 520 bucks for 6 apex seals + 60 for springs. No thankyou.
If anyone who has a racing league affiliation wants to start selling these seals at the reduced price I think everyone would appreciate it, a lot! I want mazda oem seals but paying more than twice the RA seals price when it's only slightly better doesn't seem logical to me.
I just realized why mazdatrix always has better prices than mazda, or almost always. They have a racing team and get that hefty discount.

I get old no-way-we-can-go-under-$60-PER-apex-seal at the local Mazda dealer down here!
And that's WITH a dealer discount!
Man, what are you Canadian's doing to get such cheap prices?!??!

Oh wait! I made a mistake! That was the Mazdatrix price....the local Mazda dealer wanted $46.22 per Apex seal, for a total of $277.32CDN, or $230USD.
The whole list of parts I wanted for my rebuild came to $1432USD from Mazdatrix, and $1291CDN at my local dealer (about $1070USD).
So, I don't know what we're doing up here, but I ain't gonna start asking

With 14% sales tax, it comes to under $240 US at the current exchange rate of 1.22 cdn per USD.
Springs not included.

eg: New S5 rotor housings are $530 cdn, taxes included... so $430 USD each.
Our prices are generally 20% lower than what the US pricing seems to be.
