apex n1 exhasut system

i think personally its a great exhaust. when i first bought my rex, i had one. you just cant beat the looks of that exhuast.
i'd never spend that much though. racing beat is another expensive option. look up SSautochrome, they have great single exhaust systems for a great price... about $200 less than the apexi and racing beat systems.

I have an apexi n1 dual setup through a r/b street header and presilencer. I love it! noticable power difference. Can be rather loud without the cones installed in the exits of the mufflers, but it is great to have the option, especially if your cars sees track time

Save your money. You can buy a Corksport catback for about half the price. It is a similar design and the Corksport is 100% stainless steel (the Apexi is not). If you want to spend $500, buy a Racing Beat catback...the quality is great and they sound amazing and quiet.

I agree with the comment that Sideways7 made. I have heard two different 2nd gens with the RB headers/presilencer combo along with an N1 catback. To me, it is an incredible sound for a non-turbo car. Nice and deep without being TOO loud. It will be a bit louder when the pedal hits the floor, but it's not earthshaking loud by any means.

But the catch is without the presilencer, it can VERY loud. With my current set up it can be annoying, but it can fixed by staying off the gas.

I might need a new cat-back and there's a local guy selling an N1 dual system for a decent price. Is the dual less loud than the single by an significant amount? My current system is a Dynomax which isn't all that quiet, but I absolutely do not want a louder system than that.

N1 systems are very loud. But also for comparsion, I've heard FCFanatics car (88 SE like mine, same intake, same header, he had a Bonez high-flo and a Apex' N1 single exhaust) and it was much quieter then mine, where it can be raunchy loud when I get on it. Just for a comparison for Corksport vs Apex
But RB or Dynomax (depending on the muffler) sounds good. Borla also can't be beat. So if you don't want louder, I must say shy away for an N1 system. I personally love N1 exhaust, but I can deal with the noise.

well if your stuck on an apexi exhaust, get the GT spec for about 70bux more. Its all stainless and they sound real deap suttle tone. the only thing is that it comes out the drivers side instead of the passenger side.

well my out look is if i need to put a silencer in it my car doesnt need it...... my buddy put a silencer in his car and BOOM(blown engine)... rotaries dont like backpressure i guess. he couldnt stop getting tickets with this big can type exhaust.... im sorry i cant present a non-expensive solution but the racing beat stuff is the way to go $$$. i cant figure out what kind of exhaust i have on my car it looks stock but its not..... its heavy but it sounds good and moves air waaay better than stock

Mixed messages....not good! I guess I'll steer clear. Unfortunately, the only new option I can really afford right now (and I really can't afford that, either!) is a Pacesetter Monza system. I've heard it before and thought it sounded decent enough. If it lasts about as long as the Dynomax did (about 7 years), I'll be happy. JC Whitney has it for $290 less 15% right now and they have cheap shipping to Canada that includes all taxes and customs fees. My total price will be $320 USD, or about $390 Canadian.

3 things have me bringing this thread back:
1) The guy selling his N1 dropped the price by $100 to $400 (Canadian)
2) My old Dynomax just fell apart
3) The el-cheapo Monza system I ordered from JC Whitney is back-ordered for 5 weeks and cost the same $400 as the used N1.
I think I may be confused about something though. I assumed that "Dual" meant it was two mufflers and two exhaust tips, with one coming out of each side of the car. But, some pics I've seen (on the Apexi web site, for one) makes it look like it's a single-sided system, but with double piping and double mufflers. Which is it?? Also, it seems the N1 Dual is actually *louder* then the regular N1, but I'm thinking I may as well just buy it, use it 'til the Monza comes, then sell the one I don't want to keep.

Its dual, then its with two mufflers on opposite sides of the car.
And yes rotaries like backpressure, 86-88 use backpressure to actuate the ports.
I say get the exhaust if its in good shape. And dual is quieter then a single N1. Don't use the Monza cat-back, it sucks.
