apex corner seals: 2-piece vs. 3-piece

What is the differents between 2-piece and 3-piece apex corner seals. I would assume 2-piece is stronger but Im just quessing. Im rebuilding my engine and was thinking should I go with 2-piece instead 3-piece apex seals.

All information is welcome.
Thanks

They no longer make 3 piece apex seals, so you're stuck with 2 piece.

The 3 piece used to seal better since they would basically form a "gapless" seal in the rotor groove.

The RWS 2 piece 2mm seals are really nice pieces. I use them; you might want to consider them.
