Anyone using an apexi power fc in their s4 fc
is anyone using a power fc in their s4 fc? i am looking to buy this as my standalone but would like to see if anyone is having good results with it.

I have a pfc on mine, and i love it! i'm getting good results with it, What kinda results are you looking for. I have a bnr stage 2, 550cc primary and 1000cc secondary, bigger fuel pump ect. and with the ecu i'm making 315whp on stock ports. Its user friendly and i can't think of anything bad about it.

The best part about the Power FC is that so many FD owners use it. There is a lot of information out there about it. I wrote a guide for FC owners who are considering the PFC or who already have one. I do need to update it to reflect some stuff about idle control and boost control that I have been working on. It is here:

quick summary:
main advantages
-- plug and play if you get the jumper harness from Banzai Racing, so you don't need to hack the car up. you do need to do some wiring to the trailing coil
-- it may be the most commonly used standalone on Rx-7's. There are a shitload of FD's running it, so there are plenty of tuners that can use it and a lot of information available
-- full fuel and timing control
-- injector staging is nearly flawless once it's set up correctly
-- can control boost very cheaply using a factory FD boost control solenoid. As far as I know I am the only one running this setup right now. You would just need to ask Banzai Racing to add a harness pin and wire at location 4U so you can wire in the solenoid. more details here: https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/free-power-fc-single-turbo-probably-nonsequential-boost-control-846883/. I have not tried to adapt this to an internally wastegated turbo (hybrid) but there is a decent chance it could be done.
-- no issues with the CAS that can sometimes occur on other standalones
-- retains A/C and E-OMP functionality (s5)
-- can control an electric fan cleanly and reliably
-- the handheld Commander is basically a free electronic boost gauge and water temp gauge with a peak hold feature
disadvantages
-- Certainly no cheaper than the other options out there, once you buy the laptop interface (Datalogit) and the adapter harness
-- idle tuning can be tricky if you retain the BAC valve
-- since it uses a factory harness, you need to make sure yours is in decent shape. I wouldn't use one that's hacked up with a gazillion splices and cracked electrical connectors. I am using an uncut one I bought off the forums.
-- if you care (and most people don't): closed loop control doesn't work right unless you have an air pump
-- uses your existing water thermo sensor and TPS but replaces the other sensors. if those two stock sensors are messed up then you will need to replace them.

There are hundreds of happy S4 and S5 owners running around with the FD PFC installed with our harnesses. We just put down 435rwhp @ 15PSI in our shop vert.
