Anyone used this digital AF ratio gauge
I found this site off ebay.
I'm thinking about getting one. Yeah I know you should also dynotune!
It looks like it might be a lot more acurate than the other autometer type gauge.
Anyone used it on there T2?

first of all like it has been stated. Air Fuel guages can and have been HORRIBLY WRONG! They are limited by the sensor they are reading off of which is a narrow band. To get ACCURATE and USABLE data you need a WIDEBAND. No narrow band has the same accuracy of a wideband.
Getting an AF guage is really not doing much as you can't say it is SPOT ON

I knew that post was coming thats why I said "Yeah I know you should also dynotune!"
I realize what you said.
Anyone had any experience with this gauge.
I just want one so I can roughly tune my safc rich while I break in my motor then I will dynotune wideband.
It's just a safety issue with this gauge for me not really a dead on tuning device.

It should be ok, just to get a clue of what you're running, but that guage won't be anymore accurate then any other guage without getting a new sensor. They are all getting the reading from the same spot.

"DynoTune A/F Gauges solve all this with resolution down to .001 volts! Air/Fuel ratio gauges allow you to see the ratio of air to fuel present in the cylinders. The Oxygen/O2 sensor sends a signal to the computer for fuel calculations and by tapping into that line you can do fuel pressure/boost/nitrous tuning for maximum power. "
from the site...
.001 volts is pretty damn accurate, just buy a good bosh 02 sensor and that and I'd bet it would be almost as accurate as a wideband

The interesting thing to do would be to have two BUNG's made in your exhaust: One for the stock(BOSCH) sensor and one for the wide band they will use at the dyno. Then compare. That way you can see how the two readings match up or vise versa.
BTW the point of my post wasn't to say DYNO TUNE!!!!!!! more of just a warning that some gauges have been DEAD WRONG and also that the GAUGE isn't at faul 100% of the time since it is only getting a narrowband reading it is like looking out of your windshield on a rainy day.
NO AF GAUGE- Foged up window and wipers off
AF GAUGE- Defroster set to ON
WIDE BAND- Defroster ON and Wipers ON
I hope that helps.
