has one one used this boost controller/ gauge? i recently got a AEM wideband, and i like to get gauges that match, and i would not mind a electonic boost controller. so anyone have one used one? like it? anyproblems?

I know an FD guy who's using a similar turbosmart version. Works awesome.

Dunno if that helps at all

I plan on giving it a try sometime in the future. It seems so easy to use. The one I have now has a lot of features that I doubt id use.

That's going to be one of my next mods I think. I hate the hate other boost controllers that have damn *****. I'm just not down with tuning my boost the same way I tune a TV set from the 1950s.

I like my aem boost controller. Setting it up is tricky and takes some trial and error. I love the fact that it can be so easily adjusted from the drivers seat. Theres 4 presets: off, A, B, and Scramble. Off runs straight wg spring, A and B are 2 definable levels, and scramble boost is a "peak" type level where you can run a specified boost level for 25 seconds or less, so, if you'r racing that stock looking mustang, you can tag the NOS looking button and boost up for the win. Theres also safety mechanisms to protect from overboost along with apparently an audible alarm.

Ive used MBCs and even hacked boost controllers into after market ems' but Ive gotta say this AEM controller adds some pretty nice features. Cant wait to switch between 10 and 15 psi on the fly, going from roadracing to drag power almost instantly.

does this actually control boost, like you set it at 15 and it will hold 15 in any weather (assuming wastegate is large enough), or will boost vary with weather and temperature?

And what I dont like is the way it controlls boost. The AEM controller uses some kinda duty cycle on the wastegate actuator. Boost is adjusted by varying the duty on the wastegate. Theres pros and cons for this. I think boost stability is greater with this kinda control, but the biggest problem is the trial and error involved in setup. Youve got to gently raise the duty cycle from 0 through 100 until you reach desired boost levels. I can hear the wastegate flutter kind of like a bov. it sounds k00l and works alright.

sounds like the same way the haltech boost controller works with the e6k. if so, then it WILL vary boost with weather and temp.

it's my understanding that every EBC has a solenoid with duty cycle. some just set them in different ways than others... Apexi AVCR makes you set the duty cycle as well. The goal is to smooth the boost curve
