Anyone running 235/45/17 +40offset in front?
Does anyone use a 235/45/17 w/ +40offset on the front of their FC? If so, do you have to roll your lip of the fender. Will it rub w/ stock height? How about when it is lower 1".
Thanks!
Thanks!

i have 225/40/17 in front... i've looked into 235s... but i've heard that even wid 40 offset, it will still rub wid stock fenders..... i have no problems wid the setup... maybe u should consider 225/40....

Thanks guys....still looking.
Anyone else on the forum running 235/45/17 in the front...forgot to mention that the wheel is a 8". If it will fit by just rolling the fenders....let me know.
Thanks

I run 235/45/17's in the front on 7.5" rims. I don't know the offset for sure but I think it is 38mm to 40mm. No fender rub, but I get a little on part of the inner wheel well. The wheels are TSW Evo's.

1) Typically too wide for the front.
2) The diameter is significantly taller - this might or might not screw up your handling/suspension.
3) +40 offset doesn't tell us anything without the rim width.  On a 7" wide rim, it will not fit.  On a 7.5" rim it will not fit.  On an 8" rim, it will not fit.

235's won't fit on a 40mm offset 17 x 8 up front if lowered? BS they will too....Its damn tight though and I would recommend 225-45 up front....and then 255-40's on the rear...thats what I have anyway....

No, they don't unless your suspension is not stock or is not stock dimensions.
It might work with certain brands/models of tires, but not ALL 235's on a 8" wide rim with +40mm offset is going to fit under the front wheel wells.  I put money on it.
Front camber plates don't count either.

215s Wander
I am running 215/45/17 front and back. There are no rub problems, but the car does tend to wander all over the road now and follow every rut.
I have been told that an even larger section will make the problem even worse.
Have you all found a solution to the wander? Or do you ignore it?

I have Ground Control coilovers and the Eibach ERS springs that come w/the pkg. are 2.5" diameter.
Running 225/40/18's on 18x8 +40mm offset, I am so close to the spring that I would need to be careful with tire brands as some have a bit more sidewall bulge.
I'm w/ RETed, 235's, especially in a 45 aspect ratio, isn't going to happen. Pick a different size for the front. If you roll the fenders and don't drop more than an inch, you should be ok on the fender side, but again I think you're going to have issues on the inboard side.

Yeah, I believe he's running "race" tires with very straight sidewalls?
My calculations show you want around +35mm offset for a 7.5" and 225 wide tires to be "ideal".  Depending on tire profile, most won't fit...

i'm debating whether to run 225 or 235/40/17 up front. I have JIC coilovers so I can probably make the strut clear the wheel w/ the upper pillowball mounts, but then again....I don't think that I want to have to set my camber according to my tires. I'd rather have it set correctly. Probably gonna run 225.

I'm w/ Ted as well. I am running 225/50 16 A520s on 7.5" w/ +25 in front. There is a "little" room w/ stock suspension inboard. If you do +40 you will probably have to run a 5mm spacer to clear. 16x7.5 TE-37s weren't offered in +30, +35
I haven't tried w/ my JIC coilovers. I read in SSC that when they used JIC coilovers in project Silvia they gained a bunch of room because JIC apparantly used revised lower mounting locations. We'll see how it is on the FC...

I have a coil over set up and camber plates so this obviously helps. I don't think this would work with the stock spring/shock configuration as it is very close. As Ted said, my offset is probably +35 to +38 as I do not have my fenders rolled or use a spacer. I also use A520's. I run the the car about 1.5" lowered and it is corner weighted so there is a slight difference in ride height from one side to the other.
