I might mislead something but Im not so sure what I need to install aftermarket steering wheel. I want those Nardi 3 spolk sport steering wheel and a release hub. Im not so sure how to install the thing. If you had done it before and still remember the step please help me out. Thanks. guys.

if its s4.

just get the middle center cap of the steering wheel off, it saysMAZDA, then remove the bolt holding on the steering wheel.

im not 100% sure cus ive never taken off my s5 steering wheel, but im pretty sure you just CAREFULLY pull off the middle piece and then unbolt.


you will need a steering wheel puller offer lol. i used some portable vice grip clamps to get mine off. or you can TRY to wiggle it off, but its been on there for 20 years atleast or more so good luck.

On an S5 there's bolts that hold the middle part in. They're accessed from the back, then losten off the middle nut (not all the way, so you don't smash your face), then pull and wiggle to get it off. Follow the directions with the hub to install, it's very self explanatory at that point.

If you're 5'10+ I'd suggest using a fixed 80mm spacer...

You can get one for 40 bucks on eBay.

A detachable one means someone could steal your wheel if you leave it on the car.

Installing an aftermarket wheel is really simple though.

(I suggest a Momo Model 78 though... leather is slippery when your hands are sweaty but suede absorbs sweat...)

I've got that wheel. With a 1" spacer it's a little farther away from the dash than stock. Without one it'd be uncomfortable I'd think.

since the hub adapter is more expensive, it pretty much evens off.

Hub = $2.50 more, wheel = $10 less, so that's $7.50 less overall.

I'd defiletely reccomend using a spacer on that wheel, it's a VERY flat wheel, and without it you're knuckles are going to be very close to the turn signal and (if you've got it) cruise control stalks.

well, ebay steering wheel, quick release, and hub, all in all, like 100 something after tax and shipping.
here are the pics of it installed.
only problem with is, that i have to take it all apart occasionally and tighten the nut, cause it loosens itself up for some unknown reason. oh well, the price you pay for comfort and pleasure.

in my case it was hard because the quick release hub interfered with the turn signal return piece that is behind the stock wheel but i just removed it . turn signals will still work they just won't automatically turn off when you turn. i don't really use them anyways.

wow, i didnt have that problem with the turn signals, although i found out how brittle 20 y/o plastic is (used an impact wrench for the nut HAHAH)
so, im gunna put on a lock nut IF i can get one that big (its a big freakin nut/bolt)
and no, uninstall and install was HELLA easy, with a bit of patients and elbow grease.
oh, and get a setup that comes with a release and wheel together, i have no horn now
its ok, im gunna wire up a f-250 horn anyways!!!!!!!!

Installing the wheel was easy as hell. It can be done in 10minutes. And that's if you have ADD.

Take off the cap. Remove center bolt. Pull wheel off. Place hub on. Replace bolt, torque down to 20lbs. Attach quick release. Sit back and enjoy.

If that is too hard for you, then you need to get out of cars.

Do yourself a favor and purchase a QR lock. If you think just taking off your steering wheel with you will keep your car safe, you got another thing coming.
