I've got a '90 GL (wooo 4-banger....-_-), and a job like that could actually make that car worth driving again. Oh, and if you can fit the 3.0, you should definately look into getting a 3.0L Taurus SHO V6. It's practically the same engine as the 1st gen Probe LX 3.0L V6, but with 200~hp. Could even overbore it to 3.2L, I hear SHO'ers like to do that. ....or so I hear. Could this actually work? Lol.
i don't have a probe, and i'm talking about the mazda V6, not the 20 year old ford pos i wouldn't use the yamaha engine either, too rare. and later years of the SHO motor were 3.2 anyway.

the later years of the SHO were V8's not V6's. The Yamaha SHO motor = 4.0 Transverse-mounted V6.... oh yeah, and they're not all that rare.

Yeh, Also too bad the delSOl is rediculosly heavy. I mean, a standard cibic from the same year was lighter than the del sol. That things needs some stripping down to be light.

i know the V8 was in later cars, but we're talking abotu probe V8s and they're far rarer than a KL. and the yamaha sho motor = all of them

hey now--don't knock the Fiero--I have done three V-8 conversions on them. there is a company called V-8 Archie that specializes in the kit to do this. BELIEVE IT--my last one had a 5.7 TPI in it and it weighed less than a 7 does. Imagine taking on a Vette with the same kind of power but a full THOUSAND POUNDS LESS weight.....you get the idea. AND it was reliable power too--I drove that thing halfway across the country when I moved here...

Question

Hey RX7_ZRO, just outta curiousity, how much do you want for that Probe LX, if you're sellin' it? How many miles are on it, and etc.? Lol, though I dunno, hah. I live in a townhouse development and we have five cars and no place to put them, lol. My parents would probably frown on getting a new car already. Besides, I'm only 18 and I doubt I have anywhere near the amount of mechanical know-how to do such a job as a MR swap in a Probe.... not yet anyhow. ....But!! I'm still curious about the car, and even more curious about what such a job would intail. Not to hijack this thread or anything, but what goes into doing a MR swap like this?
