I am the one making these and you guys are making some assumptions that are incorrect. This was designed as a drop-in repalacement for the stock TID. I designed it because I too have made one out of PVC, boy what and ugly piece of crap that thing was. This one has much better flow than stock and can be used with the stock airbox or not, with the stock BOV or not, I was trying to cover all the bases with one design. IF you think you can have one made for less good luck, the silicone alone is over $40 and the aluminum pipe is very expensive. If you want more info you can email me at chrissanders@netzero.com

and she has a broken tranny
but will be getting one from my engine Builder (Jerry/ Big Boyz Toys)
This weekend and hope to have it running by saturday
I'll be racing my car Feb 10th at speedworld
so make sure to be there BogusFile
I want you to tell me how my car looks from behind
cause that the only view your going to get..LoL
and no sneaking NOS either..

As far as the air is concerned, it is basically a sharp 90º bend, ie turning through 90º in a very short length. These sort of bends are why you replace the stocker in the first place.
How does it connect to the AFM and the turbo when it appears to be the same diameter throughout, including connectors?

It's obvious *most* (not all)...2nd Gen owners on this forum are cheap SOB's
That why all the plans for replica spilorer kits
carbon fiber parts etc has FAILED!
cause of negative attitudes of these people.
There a guy who makes custom catch cans for 3rd gens
he sold lots and lots of
them
I was to invest time and money trying to develop one for 2nd gen
I would get negative feedback from 2nd gen owners.
It's shame cause like BlueTII said our cars are very old now
and NO company is going to go out and develop new products for our cars.
RudeBoy tried making some TID's for $80!!!!!
and you cheap ***'s shut him down too.
and he tried selling N/A turbo kits with some other dude that has not visited this site in months
and was shut down also.

Your correct, I think the negative people really want these items but can't scrape together a few dollars to buy it. So, just so that someone else doesn't have something cool on their car they talk about how crappy it would perform. well I have sent out about 15 of these so far and i am sure someone will post their feedback on the product

You could cut piece out of the pipe.
If one of your corners was made out of a solid pipe (which it wasnt) you would have had two 45° pieces cut out.
You could possibly have 3 30° or 4 22.5 pieces, then bend it up and weld it. It would make a more flowing bend. It may not make much of an improvement if any, maybe you could try it if not too much trouble

Bends aren't restrictive in a un-pressurized environment. The only restriction is the total amount of internal volume - and to a smaller degree the thickness of the boundary layer. With the stock hose there are a lot of internal bumps which makes the boundary layer thicker, therby cutting down on the effective internal volume. The smooth metal doesn't encounter those turbulence effects. It will flow better, but still, in a un-pressurized setting, the difference will be negligable. Make it a ram setup, and then you'll see some benefit.
