this is actually the second one the guy's made. I've done some business with him before, and I can actually say he's been a HUGE help to me. Not even just selling the parts, but he also gave me some advice and help to other probs with the car too. So if oyu guys are looking to spend some money, I'm sure it's a decent piece. Just had to get my $.02 in about this guy.

Isn't that think rubber for a reason. The engine moves but not the stock airbox...right? Seems if you still have a stock intake you need the rubber piece to allow movement.

PS. It does look good though.

Is there any advantage to using the metal over some Hope Depot PVC?? That's what I made mine out of, it works great. I would also think the smoother curves of the one piece pipe as compared to the multiple piece (although welded into 1) metal. And wouldn't the metal be more likley to conduct the heat of the engine rather then preserve the air of the atmosphere? Please correct me if I am wrong, these are just guesses.

That does look sexy but I think this guy's missed the point of replacing the stock TID. Replacing two sharp 90º bends with one long swept bent means it flows much better. That one won't flow much better than stock because while it's smoother inside (no corrugations) it's the same shape.

umm, no, that will totaly outflow a stock one!, but be prepared for a psi or 2 more creep... and I doubt that fits with the stock air box. so you need a cone filter as well. not to mention removing the air pump.

It does get rid of the U-bend part
the biggest obstruction part of the stock TID.
So this unit will clearly out-flow the stock one
He put much work into this
and it's worth $150 including shipping
I'll be getting one soon
I'm all for supporting people that go out and make stuff for our cars
that no one else would.

you can clearly see it on the above pic
while the custom one is smooth.

I think NZ Conv. is right, w/ two 90 deg. bends it just can't compare to a TID w/ one gradual 30 deg bend. Its also hell of alot less work to put one shallow mandrel bend then cut and weld that many times. It may look cool to someone who doesn't know- because of all the work put into it, but form follows function and one polished 3" tube w/ smooth, shallow bend looks way better to those who understand the physics of airflow. I picked up a $10-15, polished, bent 3" alum. tube from my local speed shop , cut it to length added a $5 3"-3" and $8 3"-2.5" coupling and tapped it for a $2 nipple. Thats like $30 + cone filter+adapter. Someone could be making alot of money w/ this...

I have to agree. The bends are the most restrictive part of the system, and they havent been eliminated. I mean ****, I could have an exhaust shop make that. Also, if you notice, its all the same size. The stock TID is larger at the airbox end, thus making it harder to join to the AFM. It looks like a quality piece, but doesent have changes I was looking for, sorry.

That looks nice, but I'm a cheap ***, and I'll stay with my $40 ghetto 3'' PVC 45* elbow, Autozone ricer air filter, and two couplers.
It helps that both my car and the PVC are white

I wouldnt use it on my TII. The one I bought from K2RD flows much better. The one Ted sells is basically a straight shot from the AFM to the turbo, its 3" diameter, and it cost half as much. I noticed a good 2-3 psi increase and better turbo response with K2RD's inlet duct.
