I've seen a few companies offering a Kevlar exhaust but their always just the cannisters ie. no cat back. I was wondering if anybody has fabricated a set-up with an N1 style muffler with no sound restriction plug that isn't too loud... I think Arospeed makes or used to make this material muffler, and I know Revolution still makes one. My car is a series 5 and I think this would look a lot better than a polished mirror type because the car's white. Thanks.

 

I've never seen a Kevlar canister.&nbsp Carbon fiber, yes; kevlar, no.

how do you make a muffler out of kevlar? wouldnt it melt to ****?

 

regular muffler with a thin sheet of CF around it

 

bmc: I dunno 'bout that - I saw a very high-priced one on a 3rd-gen owned by the local "performance" shop owner, and almost immediately after a dyno pull, you chould grab the canister and it was only warm to the touch...
