Anybody with advice please. 87' turbo II throttle problems
So. I had bought a n/a 86 se cause it was it good condition with low miles intended to be a swap. I got it for $1150. I sold it for $3100. I miss it! but now I got a 87 turbo II with a rebuilt s5 turbo motor motor. swap. Picked it up for $2900 with 114k on the body 5k on the rebuilt . Heres the problem....
The guy i Got it from got it right after the rebuild and romped on it ever since. . It seems something is off with the throttle. So the engine is idling rough. It has a low idle around 5-6,500rpm. Almost like its about to die. He said it didn't do that when he got it but started about a month before I bought it(after he had ran it hard)
The main issue is when I accelerate, the low end of each gear has to overly reved to catch. The clutch is new and strong. And when I accelerate once in gear the car feels like its misfiring or something. It seems to me like the throttle is stuck down a little or something causing not enough fuel to be delivered when you touch the throttle. If you press the gas and open the throttle a little more, the delay, hop in acceleration is avoided( about 95%. the second you let off the gas it seems like a lot of the fuel flow ceases.
Any ideas??? im taking it to a local rotary guy soon. but if theres anything i might be able to do before to help let me kno.

I'd suggest the general tune up stuff first then see how it's doing after that.
-test and calibrate TPS
-check and set timing
-could be clogged injectors
-do you have any catalytic converters?
just to name a few.

i have converters but it seems like some exhaust is leaking at the y connection or right around there. my oil pressue is constantly much higher than my n/a. around 110 lbs and often more when above 3000rpm. know anything bout that? or youor friends?

Pull the intercooler off and take a look at the throttle body. See if the outer set of secondary throttle plates has been removed. See if *parts* have been removed off the throttle body.
IF it seems stock, then actuate the throttle linkage while looking at the outer set of plates. It's possible the cam/damper are sticking and not letting the outer set of plates open fully or at all. The cam/damper are on the front side of the throttle body. Actuate the linkage and you'll realize what they are and what is being talked about.
Low idle speed is a possible lack of a BAC valve or plug off the BAC valve or??? kaput transistor internal to the ECU that controls the BAC or it's a victim of some MOD gone astray.
